She was running through a field as her younger self along with a high school Hopper. They were laughing so hard that tears spilled out of their eyes and their stomachs hurt. Hopper laughed so hard he fell over, but he didn't get up. She ran over to him, but as soon as she could see him she was brought back to that awful night.
She dropped to her knees, the tears in her eyes no longer from joy, they were tears of pain and sadness and anger. They were tears full of fear and guilt.
Hopper laid against a concrete floor, not the grass from before. He had blood running down the side of his face and staining the Soviet Union uniform he was wearing. His eyes were closed and they wouldn't open. "WAKE UP!" She screamed, no longer worrying about the Russian guards. "WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!" She continued yelling until her throat was too sore to talk, but still the sound persisted. 'Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!'
Her eyes flew open, and Hopper hugged her close. Pressed into a living, breathing Hopper calmed her down and made her feel safe. "Joyce. Breathe. Talk to me. What happened?" She sighed softly into his shoulder and shook her head.
"It was just a memory within a dream." She hugged him back and smiled, glad he was okay.
