It was a peaceful day, a rather beautiful one. A clear sky with no clouds present. The grass swayed freely, insects fluttered about, flowers bloomed, birds sang, and the sun shone. Peppino Spaghetti's business was prospering. After the beating provided by Peppino to PizzaFace, then PizzaHead and then to every boss who stood in his way to the top of the Pizza Tower, like the eccentric red painter, Pepperman, to the Cheeseslime of the West and his cowboy hat inherited from his grandfather, The Vigilante, to the small and unpredictable gremlin with childlike behavior and owner of the NTV company, Theodore Noise, aka The Noise, and his experimental counterpart, made to be his copy but imperfectly terrifying, Fake Peppino. The Pizza Tower had been destroyed and reduced to pieces and rubble of what was once the biggest nightmare for Peppino Spaghetti and the home of the aforementioned former bosses. Peace, for Peppino, had returned once more. Although the nightmares had not ended, as the bosses continued to torment him in his own restaurant, for example, The Noise played tasteless pranks on him, Pepperman made impossible demands, The Vigilante did not leave the place, and Fake Peppino scared away customers. However, it could always be worse. Even so, Peppino with his somewhat cowardly attitude faced the future with courage and received whatever the future had in store for him. Although, not everything would remain the same.
Noise had been acting strange, erratic. In recent days, Noisette had seen him walking around the mansion they lived in with all the money he had earned from his company and commercials, as well as his comics and movies on the way. He seemed worried, with an expression on his face that could only be described with an expression, pardon the redundancy: anxiety. Noisette, always attentive to her boyfriend, used to spy on him from the shadows, for every time she approached him, he would put on that mask he often used in those days with others, with her, and even with himself. That carefree mask, typical of him, along with that behavior only describable as that of a madman. Several times, she tried to talk to him. She tried multiple times to ask him what was going on, what his concern was, and what was on his mind that was causing even the loss of sleep. Noise, an expert in lies, pretended everything was fine and that he was thinking of the next prank on Peppino, one of those he loved so much. And although everyone believed and only saw that mask, Noisette was able to see it as thin paper. Like wet silk. She could quickly see through his lies, but choosing not to rain on her boyfriend with questions, traps or not, as she usually did to try to catch him lying and remove the mask.
It was also around those days that there was a heavy atmosphere around Theo. He stopped leaving his mansion. Peppino was surprised that Noise no longer played more tasteless, bad pranks on him, no longer called his restaurant to play a silly joke, or came there to scare customers away, and ruin his business. Noisette, concerned, paused her new restaurant project, to open again apart from the one she had on the Pizza Tower, to keep an eye on Noise. The Vigilante was surprised not to see or have Theo bother him, trying to record ghosts or annoy him for his own pleasure. Pepperman, even though he was the most self-absorbed and the one who spoke the least, realized that something was wrong, and although it did not come to the tip of his tongue, for one reason or another, whether he had his head filled with himself, of his own image, of his own beauty or was painting, it escaped him. Fake Peppino, on the other hand, didn't even notice. Quite literally, didn't care. He continued working for Peppino, who was happy to have free labor for his restaurant, but at the same time, as the double-edged sword it is, it was bad for business as it scared away customers and that meant, less money.
One day, after cleaning the house and checking on Noise, who was taking a shower, careless as he felt himself comfy, she headed to the kitchen, her next stop. While Noisette hummed a little tune stuck in her head while washing dishes, a task she did because Noise didn't care and even found it repugnant, she thought and thought. She had realized that something had changed. She wasn't usually this pensive, and Theo wasn't this scared, this nervous. He was fearless, almost malevolent, that was the most accurate description. He had always been carefree, saying that everything was the same to him, and that's why he always had a smile on his face and a calmness about him, not letting others disturb him. She had noticed that she had become pensive to the point of overthinking things, something that had been caused by Theo and his recent change.
After leaving the dishes, taking off her gloves, and wiping the sweat from her forehead, she left the kitchen. Everything was normal until she felt something that reached her heart. An electric shock, a stab. Immediately, she felt bad, clutching her chest. This sensation was uncommon for her. Her first thought? Theodore. Something was wrong. The house had darkened, the sun was cloudy, and it started to get cold inside. She quickly rushed to the stairs, running up the endless steps as fast as she could until she reached the second floor. She walked down the hallways to her bedroom. There, she tried to open the door, only to realize that it was locked. After knocking on the door desperately while demanding some word from Theo, she lost her temper and immediately grabbed a blunt object, a small statue commissioned by her. After breaking the handle and causing the Noise statue to break, shaking and on the verge of tears, she managed to enter. What she saw left her frozen.
The lifeless body of Theo on the floor. Eyes open, an agonizing expression. The room was a mess, and that's an understatement. The correct word was unrecognizable. The furniture was broken. A photo of the two of them at dinner was on the floor with the glass frame shattered. The window was open. Several objects were shattered into pieces, and Noise had a photo of Noisette in his hand, possibly the last thing he saw. She didn't move a muscle and bursted into tears. It was obvious that her beloved hadn't left without fighting back against whatever caused his life to end at such a young age, of course. However, how had she not heard? Was this what worried him? It wasn't the time for questions. Unable to do much, she fell to her knees on the floor, disoriented, and crawled slowly towards Noise, whose open eyes were like glass in the middle of the day. As she crawled, her heart beat faster and faster, confirming her suspicions. Seeing Theo, she couldn't help but place her hand on his cheek for the last time before her body gave in to the shock of everything that had happened. In a sudden attack, she passed out, falling to the ground with her beloved. However, she was still breathing. The last thing she thought before losing consciousness was that she would find out who had done this and make them pay. She promised herself that she would find who killed... Theodore Noise.
