Finding Our Way Back (Tinn and Gun)

Genesis (The beginning?)

"I don't like this, I don't like this at all." Por said pacing back and forth in their bedroom. "Love calm down, come sit down I'll go make you tea." Tiw said. Por looked at him then continued pacing back and forth. Tiw stood up and held his hands, "Love they are both adults, and they need to work things themselves." Tiw said. Por glared at Tiw. "Honey don't you think you are being a little bit over protective?" Tiw said. "Over protective? Over protective? I am not protective enough. If I was this wouldn't have happened." Tiw sighed getting a little frustrated, "why are you being so dramatic about this?" Por looked at Tiw visibly angry with tears swelling in his eyes "You're not the one who almost lost their bestfriend over that man!" He yelled. The room fell silent.

Por sat at the edge of the bed and buried his face in his hands and started to cry. Tiw sat next to him and embraced him. "Love what did you mean by that statement?". Por looked Tiw in the eyes and said "That time I went to Korea." Tiw nodded paying attention to what Por was saying. "That time, Gun was so devastated over losing his mom, when Tinn ignored him as he tried to reach put to him, he felt like he had nothing to live for. I left him for just an hour and when I came back I found him unconscious." Por said sobbing. "At first I thought he had passed out drunk, but then I saw the letter he wrote." He said. "Suicide letter?" Tiw asked eyes widened in shock. Por nodded, and Tiw pulled him in for a hug.

"Here is some chamomile tea love." Tiw said handing over the cup of tea to Por who was now sitted in bed. "It will help make you feel calmer." He added. "Thank you love." Tiw sat next to him in bed and asked "So what really happened love?" Por sighed and explained "Gun was diagnosed with major depressive disorder when his mother's condition deteriorated but he didn't want to tell any one. You know how he is." Tiw nodded and Por continued to explain "so he was on antidepressants and was doing well until his mother passed, he tried to get ahold of Tinn for a week. One day he snapped and drank all his months supply of the antidepressants."

Tiw held Por's hands as he saw that he was about to cry. Por sniffled and proceeded to explain, "luckily I got there in time, I rushed him to the hospital and he was helped but remained unconscious for a week in ICU." Por let out a sob, "The Dr said his organs were failing on him. I prayed and begged to God that he make it and he did." Tiw pulled him for a hug again. "I am sorry love." Por just cried into Tiw's embrace until he fell asleep. Tiw tucked Por in bed and went down stairs. He then removed Gun and Por from the group chat and texted:

Tiw: 🆘 meet me at the bar near my house.
Sound: what is this? Meung it's 21h30.
Tinn: what's going on?
Tiw: Guys didn't you see the SOS sign. It's an emergency. Get there at 22h00, Sound make sure you drag Win with you too.
Sound : 👍
Tinn: Okay khab

Tiw sits at the bar waiting for his friends as he drinks a can of beer. "Meung what is it?" Win says as he yawns holding hands with Sound. "Yeah! What is it? You know this was such a drag because we were already in bed." Sound adds. "Let's wait for Tinn, can I get you something to drink meanwhile." Tiw responds. "Hey guys," Tinn says as he walks towards his friends. "It's about Gun.". Win and Sound look at each other then at Tinn. " What about Gun?" Tinn asked.

Tiw proceeded to tell them everything that Por had told him and the others were in complete shock. "So you see why I needed to see you guys here?" Tiw said. Win and Sound both nodded while Tinn remained still, stuck in one place, body completely frozen. Sound looks at Tinn who's appearance now is completely pale, "Hey meung are you okay?" He asks Tinn. "This is all my fault." Tinn replied. "No it's not all your fault. There were a lot of circumstances surrounding  Gun's diagnosis." Win said. "But I have to say whatever decision you are going to take next will determine the longevity of our friendship."

Tinn abruptly stands up and says "I need to find Gun." While looking at Tiw. "How am I supposed to know?" Tiw says. "Tiw please." Tinn says. Tiw sighs, "Por is going to kill me." Win and Sound look back and forth between Tiw and Tinn, "So we are going to find Gun?" They ask. Tiw looks at them, "You guys are not finding anybody. Go home we will talk." Sound and Win say in a whining tone "Aww but we are already here, you woke us up." Tiw shrugs and gulps on the glass of beer and says "Let's go Tinn." He says as he guides Tinn out. Sound and Win are left there in disbelief before they also decided to leave.

Tinn and Tiw enter Tiw's house to find Gun and Ford sitting in the lounge watching TV while Gun was massaging Ford's feet. "Love you are awake?" Tiw asks Por. Por smiling turns his attention towards his love, his smile drops when he sees Tinn. Gun looks at them smiling and greets them. Tinn reciprocates the smile and meekly greets them, "Hello Por, Gun.". Por stands up and walks upstairs to his room without greeting neither of them. "Great, I am in trouble." Tiw says. "You better make this worth it." He says pointing at Tinn and he follows his beloved, "Honey I am sorry" He says as he walks behind Por.

Gun and Tinn are left together in silence. "Are you here to see me?" Gun asks looking at Tinn who was still standing awkwardly. Tinn nods. "Okay come over and sit down." Gun says. Tinn walks over and sits next to Gun. "What's up?" Gun asks. "Tiw told me about what happened in Korea." Gun looks at him with a confused face, "What are you talking about?" He asks. "Tiw told me about your attempt." Tinn replies not knowing how to put it gently in words.

Gun stands up  and faces away from him after realizing what Tinn was talking. Tinn stands up and gives Gun a back hug. "I am sorry Gun." He says. Gun puts his hands on Tinn's arms and says "why are you apologizing?" Tinn hugs him tighter and says "I am sorry I wasn't there for you." It was silent for a while, Tinn still embracing Gun. "I promise to do things different this time." Gun slowly pulls away from Tinn and says "you don't have to make any promises to me, you are not mine." He keeps quiet then proceeds to say "You already have someone else."

Tinn walks over to Gun and holds his hands and says, "Gun look at me." Gun lifts his hazel brown eyes and looks at Tinn. "Me, my heart and soul belong to you Gun." Tinn says. Gun keeps quiet and breaks eye contact with Tinn. "Look at me Gun." He says as he cups Gun's face to tilt it in his direction as to face him. "I know I hurt you before, but I need you to trust me." Gun nods. "I need you to promise me something." Tinn asks Gun. "What?" Gun responds. "I need you to promise to never try to take your life again." He says with teary eyes. Gun keeps quiet. "I need you to promise me Gun, I cannot lose you, not like that. Please Gu-" Gun hugs him before Tinn finished his sentenced. Tinn reciprocates the hug.
