Chapter 5

"Excuse me! Colonel Lennox?" Charlotte said

"Director Mearing, this is Sam and Arya Witwicky..." Lennox introduced before he was interrupted

"I know their names, Colonel. I wanna know who gave him clearance?" Charlotte said

"Who gave us clearance? How about Optimus Prime, when he touched down in suburbia looking for my house?" Sam sassed

"This is the National Intelligence Director. In case you..." Lennox added making Sam go whiter than a fucking ghost

'Nice job Sam, real nice.'

"Disrespecting a federal officer? Maybe that'll get you somewhere. Who's she?" Charlotte questioned

"She's my girlfriend"

"What is this, like, a date?" Charlotte questioned sarcastically

"She knows all about the Autobots, okay? She knows Bumblebee. And she comes from a military family. I can vouch for her." Lennox stated

"Hey, I have an idea. How about we get back to the important topics, like the fact that I almost had my face cut off by a Decepticon? As a taxpayer, I'd like to lodge a complaint, as a matter of fact." Sam sassed again

'Oh please, it's like you forgot you were in not one but two alien wars. Let's not be dramatic and besides clearly it didn't hit you so you're good.'

"One of the software engineers at Sam's office was murdered today. He was involved in NASA's lunar mapping probe." Lennox said

"Here's the thing, Colonel Lennox. We cannot entrust national security to teenagers unless I missed a policy paper. Are we doing that now No? Good. I don't care who you are. If you breathe a word of what you see in here, you will do time for treason. Do you understand me?" Charlotte said

"We'll take our orders from the Autobots," Sam said

"We know them. We don't know you." I add

"You will" Charlotte answers

An hour later I decide to shift back to my Cybertronian form. I hide in one of the rooms and shift quickly stepping out like I had just entered the base and stand next to Bee who shifts his body to have himself in front of me slightly in a protective manner.

We watch as Father awakens Sentinel Prime. I can't remember much about this guy only that I've never felt comfortable around him. There always was this feeling that was heavy inside me when he was around or involved. Like I couldn't relax or feel safe.

"Sentinel Prime, we bid you return," Father says placing the Matrix of leadership into Sentinels spark chambers

Sentinel awakes swinging, he strikes Father and I try to jump in to help but Bee holds me back shaking his head 'not yet'. Bee rests his arm my waist subtly and with ease calming me.

"Hold your fire!" Lennox shouts

"Stop! Sentinel! It is I, Optimus Prime! It is alright. You are safe." Father says "We are here you are home, Sentinel."

I stand beside Bee behind the birth Sentinel was laying on originally, but I caught Sentinel's eye.

"You've grown....." He says but there was a tension between us like he was very displeased to see me

"The war" Sentinel says

"The war was lost," I speak up

"Cybertron is now but a barren wasteland. We have taken refuge here, on planet Earth. Its human race is our ally." Father says

"My ship. We came under fire. The pillars. Where are the pillars?" Sentinel questioned

"You saved five of them, including the control pillar," Father said

"Only five? We once had hundreds!" Sentinel said

"Excuse me, gentlemen. May I ask, what is this technology you're looking for?" Charlotte asked

"It is the ability to reshape the universe. Together the pillars form a space bridge. I designed, and I alone, can control it. It defies your laws of physics to transport matter through time and space." Sentinel said

"You're talking about a teleportation device, aren't you?" Charlotte asked

"Yes, for resources, for refugees," Father said

"Refugees, or troops of soldiers, weapons, maybe bombs! A means of an instant strike! That's its military function, isn't it?" Charlotte said

"It is our technology and it must be returned," Sentinel growled out avoiding answering her question which makes me uncomfortable with how he dodged it

"Yes, if humans say so. You can't just bring weapons of mass destruction into our atmosphere! You kind of have to clear custom first! A little formality paperwork kind of separates us from the animals." Charlotte said

"I will overlook your condescending tone if you heed the gravity of mine. The Decepticons must never know the space bridge is here. For in their hands, it would be the end of your world." Sentinel said

"Total Nightmare right. So, the investigation is open. We've sent agents to your office and, for the time being, we're gonna send you home with Autobot protection." Charlotte said as we standing her office, I'm now back in my human form brushing off my skirt. They may have not seen me shift but I always get paranoid that my clothes will look roughed up after shifting

"Who do I need to speak to, to get you guys to understand that I can help, that I can contribute?" Sam asked

"Yeah, we can all help. Want me to tell you what I know? I could tell you about the solar system, and the fun planets to hang out in." Brains said trying to be helpful

"Get off my desk, please." Charlotte said annoyed and setting her gun on the desk threateningly

"You pulling out guns? I can't help you out now, she's angry." Brains said

"What do you envision for me? I go home now? I go back to work? I make copies? I mean..." Sam questioned

"This is a unit for veteran intelligence officers and special forces, not for boys and girls who once owned special cars," Charlotte said

"That's a bit harsh, isn't it, ma'am?" Carly said

"Don't call me ma'am. I'm not a ma'am." Charlotte said

"Well, you're a woman, aren't you?" I question

"Are those yours?" Sam asked changing the subject

"Yeah, CIA"

"I only ask 'cause I also have a medal, from the President," Sam said proudly

"Yeah, great. So it's not that complicated, right? No one gets to work with the Autobots unless I approve it. You're breaking my chain of command." Charlotte said

"Come on, let's go. You've done what you came for. With all due respect, I appreciate what you two have done, but neither of you are soldiers. You're are messengers. You've always been messengers." Charlotte says

'Lady if only you knew I have weapons literally built into my body.'

"Bee, you take the freight elevator. We'll see you up there." Sam says

"See ya soon Honey," I say smiling

I rush up the stairs to my room to get out of these uncomfortable heels and change into athletic shorts and a loose-fitting shirt with fuzzy socks. I walk out to the living room to see Sam walking to his room. I smile at Bee and sit next to him.

"I know we haven't been apart as long as you and Sam but I still missed you, baby," I whisper as he holds me gently in his hand and together we watch movies all night just enjoying each other's company.
