Chapter 28: Claims

A few months later...

Gregory's POV:

I was in facility because I wanted to talk to Evan about these letters and mails. I been getting mails and letters from the government about something. They been sending me about mails and letter about someone. So I decided to opened some of them and find out the issue. Then when I opened one of them, I read them and I was shocked. This can't be and I opened some of the other ones. Then I read over it and this can't be true.

The government wants me to kill Evan, but I thought this is another test. But it isn't, they really want him dead this time. But don't they know the consequences about if you tried to kill Evan? He will kill you. " I didn't expect that from the government wanted to kill me, " Evan was watching me from behind. I jumped because I got startled by Evan's voice. I turned around and I glared him. " Don't scared me like that, " I said to him and he laughed a bit.

" I don't know what to do, they said you were killing some important people in some party. The others talks about you and your team killed other important person I will not name. But what about the contract you had with the government."

Evan looked at me, " I guess they forgot about if you tried to get someone to kill me. I will kill them. You know that I am immortal, you can just deny the request, " Evan said into my ear. I could, and I will. " I will, but who is making these claims? I need to find out who is doing this. Maybe Ann can help, " I suggested to Evan and he looked at me

" Ann, really, she hates me, " Evan rolled his eyes and I looked at him. " No, she doesn't, she takes time for her to trust people like my sister, Eliza had that trait." Evan looked at me, " Your sister, Eliza, she had that same trait. Hmm, " Evan was thinking again, he never tells me any of his secrets. He said it is best I don't know, this is a way to protect me from getting hurt. " What are the claims about? " Evan asked to me, as he sat down beside me.

" Well, it's say you killed some important people. But the people you kill are corrupted mind people and some important people who are enemies to us and the government. I don't know why this person will make these claims to the government. The government send me some letters and some lack of evidence. But they still want you dead, no matter what, " I explained to him, and I leaned my head his shoulder.

" Don't worry, we will prove to them. I am 'innocent', " Evan smirked and I rolled my eyes. I kept looking through the letters and mails. Evan was watching me look through them, one by one. There were so many claims and lies, Evan can see right through them and I knew they were lies because I have same power, but it's more weaker.

" We will find out, but for now, you need to keep looking. I will go to my office to do my work, " Evan ordered and he left. I went through with the other claims letters. This will take a while and I need to call Ann after this.

After two hours of going through this, I was done with all the letters. I saw all the letters were all the same about the same claims. This isn't right, Evan doesn't even use poison. The only substances he use is tranquilizer, pain impaler and some poisons like nightshade for healing things. 

But he never used chemicals for his work, yes, he is mafia leader. But he doesn't uses poisons like that. I know that, we need to prove him didn't do it. I sighed and I went to call Ann. I dialed her number on my phone. I put my phone to my ear until she answered.

A: " Hey Gia!"

G: " Hey Ann."

A: " So what do you need? "

G: " I need your help with something."

A: " What is it? " 

G: " Evan is being famed for something, he was accused of using poisons to kill people. Plus, Evan will never do that. You know what poisons he use. Please just tell the government the truth and plus the contract they all signed."

A: " I can see what I can do, if I managed to prove Evan is fine. I will call you when I find the truth. Then you can send it to the government."

G: " Thanks Ann."

A: " Your welcome."

Then she hung up on me. I need to find out who is doing this. My first thought was Vince, but that can't right. Vince is jealous of me because I have a ' perfect ' life. Well, I don't because after what happened in the last 7 years.  For now, I need to wait and plus I will send the fake evidence I got from the government. I sighed and I took photo of all of the fake evidence. Then I sent it to Ann, " And done, " I said to myself. I was tired of reading all those letters and I looked at the time. It was 4:39 pm, and I got up, then I went to Evan's office. I walked through the halls and I saw there were a lot of guards here.

I made it Evan's office and I knocked on the door. " Come in, " I heard Evan's voice. I came inside and Evan was talking to some lady. I just ignored it and the lady looked at me as if she knew me. " Hello, love," Evan greeted me, and lady looked at each other. " Wait, you two are dating, " the lady asked and I nodded. Then she left the room, " Who was that?" I asked to Evan and he looked at me. " Oh, some lady who tried to convince me that she is better than you, " Evan answered and he looked at me with smile. 

" But you are better than that fucking hag, " Evan said and he took my hand. " So, you find out who did it?" Evan asked to me.

" No, not yet. But I ask someone to look over the fake evidence and find the real truth, " I answered, and Evan looked at me. " For now, we need to wait. Ann said it might take a while. "
