Astrid opened her eyes and let out a groan. The sun was bright and shining in the room. Her head was pounding as she threw the covers back over her head. She tried to remember the previous night.

They all came back to Asgard victorious over the battle in Svartalfaheimr. Thor was still excited from the fight, he insisted everyone celebrate at the castle. Volstagg kept the ale flowing. After every drink, he would yell ANOTHER and of course, Astrid felt as if she should keep up with him. Huge mistake because now she was paying for it. Sif missed the celebration since she was injured during the battle. A sword sliced her left arm, leaving a bloody gash in its wake. Astrid noticed Sif fall during battle and ran towards her. The warrior saw Astrid coming at him, so he turned and lifted his sword to strike. Astrid slid to the ground, lifting her shield to block the blow as she impaled her opponent in the gut. Jumping up on her feet quickly, she used her foot to get him off her blade, using his back to wipe off the blood. Once Thor took down the general, the small army surrendered quickly. The battle was clear in her head but the events after were still a blur. She barely remembered going to her room to shower the battle off of her body and change into more comfortable clothes. Before going to the banquet hall, she had checked on Sif who was sleeping comfortably.

Astrid groaned again and sat up. The blanket fell from her body revealing she was naked, which was not unusual. During the warm evenings, she would sleep naked. Rubbing her eyes, she looked around the room and realized she wasn't in her room at all. This room was huge, elegant with a magnificent view of the gardens. The bed was surrounded in a curtain in the colors of green and gold. Her hand went to her mouth when she realized what those colors meant. Just then the door to the bathroom opened and there stood Loki with a towel wrapped around his waist, soaking wet. Astrid immediately brought the covers to her chin. She looked at the wonderful god in front of her. His skin was pale but muscular, not bulky like Thor but very sexy and very male. He held the towel low on his hip with his right hand while his left went through his hair. Astrid swallowed hard. How did this happen?

"Good morning, darling," Loki said as he walked towards her, sitting on the corner of the bed.

Astrid crawled higher towards the headboard to get away from him, clutching the bedsheet to her. "What? How?" She shook her head to clear her thoughts which was a mistake since her head started to throb again. She looked at Loki as his green eyes caressed her body. "Did we?" she couldn't even finish the sentence. "By the gods, this is the worst that can happen."

"You don't remember?" Loki asked, disappointment showing on his face.

"I don't remember much after the battle."

Loki stared at Astrid. She looked like a frightened rabbit holding the bedsheet to her chin. Nothing like she was during battle. She was fearless, especially when she took down that lieutenant by herself after he injured Sif. "Pity. It was quite memorable," he teased.

How could she let this happen? It truly was a shame she didn't remember since she had a crush on Loki since she arrived two years ago. They would spar together and the one time he pinned her down, she wished he had kissed her.

Her brown eyes went wide before she buried her head in her hands. Loki was truly enjoying this. "Are you alright?" he asked full of concern.

She looked up at him. "I'm in your room, naked and you're asking me if I'm alright. If I'm found here, I can get kicked out of the royal army. I fought too hard to go up in rank for this to happen." Now she was getting angry.

He rolled his eyes. "Relax Astrid. Nothing happened." Loki said as he ran his fingers through his wet hair again.

She gave him a side glance of disbelief. "I'm supposed to believe that?"
