Thor left for Asgard the next day. Loki took Bryndis through his secret pathway to Vanaheim. He cloaked them both so Heimdall couldn't see them.

Bryndis thought back to when she had to say goodbye to the Avengers. Wanda and Nat cried. She hugged them all and promised to come back to let them know what happened if she could. If not, Thor would have to pass the message. Pietro was nowhere to be found. He didn't want to say goodbye to her. Bryndis went to look for him. She found him on the rooftop. Reading his mind, she found out how much he really cared for her. She truly had no idea. They had a conversation about their feelings and she promised to keep in touch. She also apologized if she hurt his feelings. Pietro just smiled and pulled her into his embrace. He held her for a moment too long for Loki's liking because he sent her a warning telepathically.

"There's a possibility my mother has returned to the castle," Loki said as he broke through her thoughts. He held her hand as he knocked on the door. Frigga answered, surprise on her face seeing Bryndis with Loki. He immediately cast a spell over the house when they walked in.

"What's going on?" Frigga asked. They both brought her up to speed on the recent events. They all went to the back room where her sister was sleeping soundly. The three of them performed a spell and soon found that her sickness was actually dark magic. They were able to break the spell and soon Ria was sitting up and talking as if she hadn't been sick all year.

Bryndis noticed Loki stagger when he got up. "What's wrong my love?" she asked.

He waved his hand in a dismissive gesture. "I'm fine."

"That spell took a lot out of you and keeping this house cloaked is draining you," Frigga said. She conjured a paper and pen. Quickly she wrote a note and had it disappear just as fast. "I just sent notice to Odin how we are here, safe and returning to the castle tomorrow." She turned to Loki. "Now you can remove the spell and rest."

Loki rolled his eyes, looking at both the women he loved. He secretly loved how they were both fussing over him.

Ria cooked them dinner as they all sat down and enjoyed the meal. They spent the evening talking about the events that transpired over the year. Soon it was time for bed. Frigga showed them to their room. "We leave at daybreak," she said as she closed the door.

Loki took Bryndis by the hand and led her to the bed. Using their magic, they both changed into their sleepwear. Bryndis crawled into the bed first. Loki joined her, gathering her in his arms, he kissed the top of her head and bid her goodnight.

"I love you Bryndis," he whispered.

She snuggled closer to him "And I love you with all my heart, Loki." She heard him sigh and hug her tighter.

Bryndis woke up to the sound of Loki's heartbeat in her ear. She was still lying on his chest. She smiled.  Today was the day they would get their lives back. She would face Odin, clear her name and go back to living on Asgard as she did before this nightmare started a year ago. Carefully she untangled herself from Loki's arms and changed clothes. She ventured out of the room to find Frigga. She found her drinking tea with her sister. Ria smiled and poured a cup for Bryndis.

"Do not fret child. Odin will listen to reason," Frigga said as she placed her hand over Bryndis's arm.

"I hope so. My fear is I will be arrested and sentenced before any evidence is given. Whoever concocted this plan thought this through and hoped I'd be executed before they were discovered."

"That will not happen without a fight," Loki said as he walked into the kitchen and sat next to Bryndis but not before giving his mother a kiss on the cheek.
