My eyes fluttered open. Where was I? I thought to myself, waking up in sort of a daze. Why was it so bright? OH NO
My body jolted up suddenly realizing Sebastian and I had fallen asleep on the boat in the middle of the lake. I had no idea what time it was, but the sun was out, and we were potentially late for class.
"Sebastian!" I yelled, startling him awake. Sebastian was as confused as I was.
"What? Huh? Maddz? Where? WHOA," Sebastian shot to a standing position, suddenly losing balance not realizing where he had just woken up.
"Oh no, Sebastian!" I went to reach for him, but I was too late. Sebastian tumbled over right into the lake.
I darted to the edge of the little boat looking for him to resurface. WIth a big splash, Sebastian's head made an appearance. "Bloody hell Moody, you startled me!" He said in surprise while wading in the water.
I started to giggle at the sight of him. "Good Morning sunshine."
Sebastian arched his eyebrow, "Oh yea, you think this is funny do you?"
I laughed even harder, "Yes I do actually. Enjoying your morning swim"
Sebastian chuckled lightly, "Help me into the boat will you." He reached his arm up towards me. I reached for him to pull him up, but instead he tugged hard pulling me in with him.
The coolness of the morning lake water caught me by surprise. I shot up out of the water. "Sebastian you brute!" I yelled, splashing him as he laughed at me.
"Enjoying your morning swim are you," he teased back. I splashed him again and sighed deeply, positioning myself to float on my back. "Ugh do we have to go to class, I could stay here all day." I groaned, closing my eyes, floating in the water.
"Like the water do you?" he asked.
"I used to spend most summers at the beach back home. It's almost always warm, if not hot back home." I hummed calmly floating in the water.
"Well I hate to ruin a good swim, but we should probably get ready, who knows what time it is." Sebastian pressed.
I groaned, sinking underwater. The feeling of being under the water was one of my favorite time stopping moments. The silence, the calmness, the peace, all before having to come to the surface back to reality.
Sebastian and I managed to lug ourselves back onto the boat, and he rowed us back to the cave with the docks. We rode in peaceful silence taking in the crisp morning air. The air grew colder as we reached the cave and I shivered.
"I'd give you my robe, but seeing as it's soaking wet, I'm not sure it would do much good." Sebastian offered. I smiled at him, "Let's just hurry in before we get sick."
Sebastian parked us and we headed back to the Slytherin common room. Not many students or teachers were walking around yet, telling me we hadn't missed classes, or better yet breakfast.
As we entered the common room, both still dripping wet, we were interrupted but a concerned voice. "Sebastian? Maddie? Is that you? Where on earth have you two been? And why in Merlin's name are you both soaking wet!"
Ominis.
"Uhh, well.. You see.." we both stuttered in unison.
"I'll hear you both out at breakfast, good heavens get dressed, I've been bloody up all night worried about the two of you after hearing about the troll attacks, but you just fancied a swim." Ominis muttered as he was walking away.
Sebastian and I looked at each other, both trying to contain a laugh, but failed. Sebastian held a finger up to his mouth and motioned for me to follow him.
