I must have been in a deep sleep. I could hear voices in the distance, but my eyes refused to open.
"Do you think she'll ever wake up?"
"I don't know Sebastian, why don't you ask her?"
"How can I ask her when she's asleep?"
"Exactly my point, just gently tap her or something."
"You want me to touch her, what if I scare her? She looks so peaceful."
"Oh for heaven's sake Sebastian. Maddie darling?"
I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder. It still wasn't enough to wake me. I felt so still, so calm.
"Maybe we should put some cinnamon up to her nose, I know she'll wake up for her cinnamon coffee!"
"Hmm, maybe, she doesn't seem to be budging. Will you please try to wake her Sebastian."
"Oh alright." I heard footsteps approach me. "Maddz, are you in there?" The hairs on my neck rose at the feeling of his breath on my ear. "Maddz, please don't make me take Ominis on a picnic date by myself, I need you." That was it. My eyes fluttered open and there he was. My golden eyed boy. "There you are," he smiled.
"Maddie I was beginning to worry you wouldn't wake." Ominis spoke.
I stretched and rubbed my eyes waking from my deep slumber. I still felt so tired and groaned. "How did you guys get in here anyway," I mumbled.
"Imelda let us in, sorry if we startled you," Ominis apologized.
Sebastian was still crouched at my side, eyeing me to make sure I was getting up and not leaving him alone. His look was serious. I couldn't help but laugh at him. "Alright, alright I'm up Sallow," I said sleepily. He smiled again at me and backed away. "Just give me some time to shower and get dressed ok?"
"Twenty minutes Moody," Sebastian demanded.
"Twenty-five," I bargained.
"Twenty-three take it or leave it," he argued back.
"Deal."
"It's warm out today Maddie, in case you were wondering how to dress," Ominis mentioned. So sweet of him to let me know.
*If anyone wants an audio visual for this part, I was listening to Dreams by The Cranberries while writing this.*
The boys left my room and I proceeded to shower and get ready. So it was warm out. Beach and garden day, perfect opportunity to bust out a flowy spring dress. Professor Weasley had been kind enough to team up with the other women Professors to gather some old clothing of theirs to give to me since I lost all the clothing I had on the trip here. My favorite clothes came from Professor Garlick, the herbology teacher. Her style was unique, but feminine with pops of color. The clothing in this day and age felt like it came from a fairytale.
I decided on a white flowy dress with purple wildflowers on it that came a bit above the knee, which was risky in 1890, but I didn't care. I chose to wear my hair in a ponytail and tied it up in a purple ribbon. I wore a little more makeup than normal today too. I didn't know why I felt the need to dress up a bit. Was I doing it for him? Sebastian? Did I want him to notice me? Stop being ridiculous Maddz. Why was I suddenly so nervous?
I shook off the feeling and made my way to the main room of the common room. Before I descended the steps, I saw the boys facing away from me. Seeing them out of their normal uniforms was new for me.
Ominous wore a light blue button down with a black tie, covered by a beige sweater, sleeves rolled up with brown pants. Sebastian wore a blue striped button down with an unbuttoned black vest and a red tie and beige trousers that stopped just below his knee. Both looked ready for our day outside.
