Sebastian, Ominis and I got ready and planned to meet Natty in the Great Hall for breakfast.

"I don't like this at all," Ominis said. "Harlow is a dangerous man, perhaps whatever this is can be left to the authorities and Officer Singer."

I sighed, "Unfortunately, it seems as if Officer Singer has her hands tied with so much right now, she's missing out on so many little details. We have to hear Natty out."

"I was afraid you were going to say that, I'm going to need a big breakfast for this," Ominis groaned as he headed for the Slytherin table. I felt Sebastian pull me back by my arm and I giggled.

"Yes Mr. Sallow?"

"Sorry, I just finally wanted to do this," he said as he kissed me in the middle of the great hall. A few oohs and ahhs were heard around us as I blushed and sighed, "Finally."

"Go on," Sebastian said, "I'll meet you at the table."

I headed for the Slytherin table and sat next to Ominis and across from Natty. Sebastian soon followed with four coffees in hand. He passed them all around, winking at me when I noticed the shape of a heart in cinnamon sprinkle on mine.

"Alright Natty, what's going on?" Sebastian asked.

Natty leaned in close. "As promised, I did some investigating to see what Harlow was up to. I followed him to the Hogshead. There, I noticed him reading a letter. All I could see was that it was signed by and bore the seal of Victor Rookwood. And.. one other thing, Harlow mentioned you to his colleagues," she said nodding towards me. "They did not mistake you for someone else did they?" Natty grew serious, and I remembered a few weeks back that I told her I knew nothing of Rookwood and Harlow, lying to her in order to protect her, but she knew now. I thought about what Sebastian had told me last night, I had to start letting others in, this was their fight too.

I sighed, "No they didn't. Rookwood and Harlow are after me."

"Why did you lie to me? And what do they want with a Hogwarts student?" she asked, concerned.

"I just wanted to protect anyone I could, and Professor Fig wanted me to keep as quiet as possible, but I can see now, it's important for you to know. You're my friend, and I trust you," I told her. "Rookwood and Harlow want something Professor Fig and I found at Gringotts."

"Gringotts? When were you at Gringotts?" she asked.

"Just before I came to Hogwarts, in fact, it is the reason I was late to the sorting ceremony. A portkey brought us there after a dragon attacked our carriage," I went on.

"What on earth?" Natty exclaimed.

"There's one more thing," I hesitated. Sebastian and Ominis looked towards me, "It's a bit odd if I'm honest."

Natty looked at me intently. "I possess a powerful connection to a rare form of ancient magic."

"I... what does that mean?" Natty asked.

"I'm still learning, but I can see traces of it, and I can cast magic I can't otherwise explain. Very powerful magic. I know that's a lot to take in," I told her.

"It is, and I will have more questions, but for now, it's safe to say that Rookwood and Harlow are a threat to both of us," she demanded. "To all of us," she added, nodding to Sebastian and Ominis. "And we can help to take them down, for good. That letter I saw is the tangible proof that Officer Singer needs, and I know where Harlow will be tonight."

"Can't we just bypass Officer Singer and go to the ministry?" Omninis insisted.

"Do you think they will listen to a student?" Natty shot back. "Only Officer Singer can start an investigation. The ministry will come in later."
