Once class was dismissed, I raced for the exit, eager to find Ominis. I know he said he wanted to be left alone, but that wasn't his call to make. Those were my tea leaves he read, therefore I deserved to know what he saw in them. Now, if I were Ominis Gaunt, where would I be?
I headed for the common room first, it was worth a shot at least. I ran down the spiral staircase and didn't find him in the main common space. I wasn't allowed in the hallway of the boys dormitory, but I had been there once before, who was really going to stop me now?
I rushed through the hallway, brushing past a few Slytherin boys who shouted things like hey, or what the bloody hell is a girl doing in here? I ignored them and pounded on Sebastian and Ominis' dorm. No answer. I pounded again. Fuck it. I opened the door and rushed inside to suddenly find a sleeping Sebastian jump out of bed. I quickly noticed he was covering himself with his blankets.
"Hey, what the—" he started before noticing it was me, and then his eyes grew wide and his cheeks flushed.
"Oh! I'm sorry!" I turned around to give him privacy.
"Maddz, are you ok? What are you doing here?" he asked, concerned.
I let out a light laugh, "Were you sleeping naked?"
"Well, I wasn't expecting anyone, and so what if I am?" he started rambling until I felt the tone change in his voice, "Why did you want to join?"
"Sebastian!" I said surprised.
If this wasn't a dire situation, I might have taken him up on that offer.... Even though I figured he was joking. Was he?
"As much as I'd love to, I'm actually looking for Ominis," I said, turning around. I looked at him up and down. He was beautiful. I had never noticed he had freckles that danced along his shoulders and back as well.
"Oh..." he said, almost disappointed. "I haven't seen him, why is everything ok?"
Perhaps it was best that Sebastian didn't know what was going on yet. This could be personal. Even if Ominis was his best friend, we all deserve some sort of privacy.
"No, erm I mean yes, it's fine, I just had a question about our divination assignment," I lied.
"Divination assignment? Oh, well, I'm sorry, he isn't here Maddz, perhaps he's gone on a stroll," he suggested.
"The gardens! Thank you Sebastian!" I said excitedly, rushing over to him, placing a kiss on his cheek. As I parted from his cheek, we both looked at each other embarrassed. Here I was, kissing Sebastian, and all that was between us was his bedsheets.
"Must you go?" he whispered.
Ugh, must I?
I sighed, "Unfortunately I do, but, don't go too far." I shot him a cheeky smile.
He groaned, "I'm going to kill Ominis for this!"
Don't hold your breath buddy, I thought.
"I promise, I have good reason, bye Sebastian!" I said as I left the sleepy boy.
I ran out of the common room and outside to the gardens. I looked everywhere. Nothing. "Ugh, Ominis, where are you?" I said out loud, leaning over the walls that faced the boathouse. Then I thought, "The undercroft!" I quickly pushed myself from the wall and headed for the defense against the dark arts tower. I entered the undercroft almost certain I would find him there, but unfortunately, it remained empty. My search for him was futile.
The rest of the day I spent lost in thought. Even in Quidditch practice I couldn't keep my mind off of Ominis. It was clearly showing in my performance.
