A few days after Rosalind's defeat and Luna's funeral, life at Alfea had resumed its course with difficulty. A former student replaced Andreas while Saul was serving the remainder of his sentence, which would probably be reduced. In her husband's absence, Farah tried not to feel sorry for herself and to spend time with Sky, who needed her very much, while supporting Ben and Stella, who were suffering every day from the loss of the Queen. Headmistress Dowling was now ready to take the next step and tell Bloom and Beatrix the truth about their origins. She realised that life was hanging by a thread and that the two girls might never have known the truth if Rosalind had succeeded in murdering her. That was why she had summoned them into her office after school at the end of the day, which was fast approaching.

After having a snack with her friends, Bloom headed for Farah's office, not without some trepidation. She had received an email from her the day before, summoning her after school, without mentioning the subject. The young fairy hoped that it was not a sanction in relation to Rosalind's release, or even worse, an expulsion. And the fact that she was Sky's girlfriend did not make her a privileged student. Her mind became even more confused when she saw Beatrix waiting outside the office door, quite anxious.

"Has Miss Dowling summoned you too?" the fire fairy asked in surprise.

The air fairy nodded calmly:

"Yes, though, I find it weird that she didn't give more details, and I find it hard to understand why she wants to talk to both of us."

They had no time to dither as the door opened abruptly.

"Ah, girls, I'm glad to see you, come in!" exclaimed the headmistress with a smile that concealed a certain nervousness.

The two teenagers complied, unaware that this conversation would change their lives forever. Farah gently motioned for them to take their places on the couch around the coffee table on which were a tray of biscuits, three cups and a teapot. She quickly poured them a fresh mint tea before getting to the heart of the matter, looking serious.

"Girls, I've summoned you here today to discuss an important matter that concerns you both," she began in a soft voice. "I would indeed like to make some revelations about your past."

Bloom widened her eyes in surprise.

"Our past? What do you mean?"

"We didn't grow up together," Beatrix added, increasingly confused.

Farah grabbed their hands and squeezed them tightly, ready to reveal her secret.

"You didn't grow up together, but you were born together in Aster Dell, you are twin sisters," she announced sympathetically.

Shocked, the two young fairies stood for a moment.

"How is that possible?" questioned Bloom, her curiosity piqued. "We're fairies, not witches."

"Well, I know you expected anything but this truth, but I did some research on you and I realised that Rosalind had lied to me. The witches never kidnapped you to use the Dragon Flame, but Rosalind was planning to. That's why she hid you in the First World, hoping that no one but her would find you."

"What about me, then, how do you know I'm really Bloom's sister?" the air fairy interrogated incredulously.

"When you said you were born in Aster Dell, I immediately made the connection with the two missing babies who were not found in the rubble. Everyone else in the village lost their lives, and I don't think Andreas would have lied to you about that," the headmistress explained, smiling slightly.

Beatrix nodded, half satisfied with her answer.

"What do you know about our parents?" Bloom inquired, eager to finally know their identity.
Farah sighed, aware of the trauma she was likely to cause both sisters.

"Your father, Andrew O'Mahony, was a fire fairy of distant royal ancestry, from Domino, a kingdom destroyed by Blood Witches centuries before. It is from your lineage that you hold the Dragon's Flame, Bloom, a rare power that has not been manifested since the destruction of the kingdom, but also the most powerful of all. As for your mother, Morgan Tuheiava, she was a very powerful witch from Aster Dell, where your parents had settled when your father was disowned by his family for marrying a witch. They didn't realise that the Burned Ones were after the Dragon Flame, so they stayed on despite the war, and Rosalind and Andreas killed them and your grandmother Emma to isolate Bloom. I think Rosalind would have preferred to get rid of you too, Beatrix, but your power as an air fairy allowed you to survive, and Andreas took care of you. You are both very powerful fairies, but you could also be able to master the powers of witches."

Moved, the two twins looked at each other before bursting into tears in each other's arms.

"I'm sorry it happened this way, we wanted to stop them when we realised their intentions but we failed, Saul, Ben and I," the Specialist's wife apologised sadly.

She felt terribly guilty for not having been able to spare the civilians, those innocent families. However, as she read on the faces of the two sisters, she immediately sensed that they did not blame her for nothing in the world.

"Please don't blame yourself, Miss Dowling, it's not your fault, and Rosalind nearly killed you, not to mention what Andreas has done to you," the redheaded girl whispered, embracing her, soon imitated by Beatrix.

"Bloom is right, and we thank you from the heart for telling us the truth about our family. You are an amazing teacher and a true role model for us."

"And the best mother-in-law, too," her sister argued, pleased.

Farah chuckled, amused.

"Oh, Bloom... Sky talks about you all the time."

The latter, who had been waiting in the hallway outside his mother's office door, rushed over to the two girls when he saw them come out and, without a word, hugged his girlfriend before placing a kiss on her forehead and moving down to her lips. Bloom guessed that he had known all along why his mom had summoned her and Beatrix.
