Chapter 27: I'm Drugged Up

Tuesday, April 14th at 12:47PM at the Avengers tower in Manhattan, New York City

Cho had left the room and now May and Tony are in the room with Peter but Peter won't let them get close to him.

"It's ok Peter, it's done" May assures.

"I kn-know" Peter whispers with tears running down his face.

"Do you want to leave the room? We can take you somewhere?" Tony wonders.

Peter doesn't say anything for a moment before nodding his head.

"He's hurt Tony" May reminds him. "What if it messes up his leg or something?"

"It'll only be a few minutes. We can...take you to Harleys room? Will you allow him to be near you?" Tony suggests. May hits Tony which makes him backtrack. "I meant like you don't want us hovering. Completely fine if you want your brother."

Peter nods his head which makes Tony stop talking.

"Should we put him in a wheelchair? I think that's the best bet" May thinks out loud.

"I'll walk" Peter replies.

"Pete, you're injured and can barley walk even if you wanted to" Tony points out.

"I'm walking" Peter repeats.

"I think we should just bring Harley in here. He can't walk" May protests.

"I'll go get him" Tony agrees.

"I'll come with, we need to talk. Peter, will you be ok for a few minutes?" May wonders.

Peter nods his head so May and Tony leaves the room.

"Tony, we're not letting him process he's safe in the tower" May states.

"What? No we aren't. He knows he's safe...right?" Tony claims.

"Who do you think he went too while they were gone? Harley and Ned and maybe the-" May cuts herself off when she spots Nat, Morgan and Cassie approaching.

"Is Petey ok?" Morgan asks.

"You little miss is supposed to be on bed rest" Tony deflects before looking at Cassie. "And you too."

"I'm taking them back. While everyone was talking, the two of them didn't even go back to their rooms" Nat explains.

"Peter is alright" May answers.

"Can we see him?" Cassie wonders.

"He's a bit busy right now. You'll get to see him later or something" Tony brushes off.

Nat eyes the two of them but they don't say anything else.

"Fine" Morgan pouts.

"We'll be going now. Come on you two" Nat says before they walk away.

"I don't know what else to do May" Tony sighs.

"I don't either but we can't let him keep falling into habits he probably did back there. It may trick his brain that he's still there and not here" May exclaims.

"You're right...so, should we not get Harley?" Tony questions.

"Only this time because you told him but other times even if he doesn't want us, we can't let him keep falling back into it. He needs to get better" May tells him.

"He will, you know that he will. He's a strong kid and we'll help him get through it" Tony assures right before they enter Harleys room.

"Is Peter ok? Friday said he disabled the cameras and audio and Morgan and Cassie heard him cryin'" Harley asks.
