200 years later

THE PAST NEVER DIES

After a long night last night, things between them started to calm down. They would both treat each other like siblings. They do everything together; it seems nothing can take that away from them.

When work was done in the café. Kai usually heads to the library. Where both he and Ichiro would study. To say Kai was ingenious was an understatement. He picks up the lesson super fast. Now it has been 5 months and he is at grade 11 level in math, 12th level in science and history, and 11th level in literature. 

Kai would often go to the forest when he was having a difficult day. Catherine finds him there Next to a tree talking to it. Which was weird.

During his few weeks in the future, he was plagued by memories. Memories of the past, memories of the lab. He had nightmares every night until Catherine decided to take him to her friend who was a therapist and aware of it all. 

So far everything was good for Kai. Until it wasn’t

“WHAT THE?!” “You okay Kai” Ichiro asked alarmed by Kai. “Ah yea something just surprised me,” Kai said reading the folder he was holding. ‘April 19 2XXX Test Subject 15th Age 20 has made remarkable process with his power. In time, we will be able to hook him up to the Hawk which is still in development. If possible, we would like to preserve his power for future use.’ Kai red terrified at what they were planning to do to him. 

“Hey Ichiro, is it possible for me to check this folder out?” Kai asked closing the folder “Technically it is possible. But since it is a government-published one, you’ll need to read it fast and I mean it. You must return it tomorrow” Ichiro said leading him to the check-out counter.

In the evening Kai was still reading the ‘Test Subject 15th’ files. “Kai you, okay?” Catherine asked. “Yea everything is fine. I just got terrified of what they were planning to do with me back then” Kai said flipping to the next page. Catherine hugged him. “It going to be okay, little brother. You are somewhere where they can’t find you. And if they find you again I’m punching them to the ground so hard they can’t get up” Catherine proudly said, scaring Kai. ‘Just like Gianna’

“IF YOU PUT HIM ON DEATH’S DOORSTEP ONE MORE TIME, I’M GOING TO PUNCH YOU SO HARD INTO THE GROUND YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO SURVIVE” Gianna shouted, scaring all the scientists, and making sure he wasn’t on death’s doorstep.

That evening he decided to investigate the old lab. If he can find it again. He passes by some old labs that haven’t been used. Dirty lab equipment laying around. The smell of death roaming around the air, and a load of other stuff. He found his old prison cell. It took so much of him just not to destroy that cell. After 5 mazes of rooms and labs, he found the head office. 

‘Huh, the main base’ he looks around trying to find his files. He found leftover files and then heard something. “Sir will this work,” A man with a raspy voice said. “Of course, it will. We will summon ‘Test Subject 15’ and ask him to grant us his powers” The ‘Sir’ said with a deeper more professional voice. The two head over to Kai’s prison cell. ‘WTF’ Kai was dumbfounded ‘they try to summon me. How long has this been going on? Might as well have fun with it’ he thought as he activated his Divine power and took control of one of the devotees. ‘Sorry sleep well’ Kai now in the devotee’s body said as he made his way to the cell. “Ah, there you are let begin” the ‘Sir’ said.
