Janine sat at a computer in the main office. Nina and jacob were talking about their favorite musical when they decided to go over there. "Pencils, erasers, left and right handed scissors." Jacob read out loud. "Oh is that what's going on your wishlist?" Nina asked. "Yeah, right now I'm just trying to inventory my needs.' Janine nodded.
Confession: "Today is the start of wishlist week. Once a year, we make a list of what we need, and the people in our community try to fulfill our requests." Nina nodded. "It's the best week of the year. This is the only time i can get free stickers." She smiled.
Janine sat in the breakroom playing wishlist tiktoks loudly. "Are you gonna ask for some headphones on that wishlist of yours? Because i can not listen to another squeaky voice asking for pencils and paper." Melissa asked, slightly annoyed. "Well, if you knew how much stuff these teachers got, you'd be making one too." Janine replied.
"Yeah, no thanks. I've got plenty of supply plugs to keep me stocked up for the rest of the year." She rolled her eyes. "Oh by the way, do you think you can get me a couple more pencil grips?" Nina asked, looking up from her book. "Yea what color?" Melissa asked. "Any is fine. Thank you." She smiled. Melissa stared at her for a couple seconds, before she returned to her papers.
"Hey Barbara, you know maybe you should make one of these videos." Janine suggested. I know your class is short on a few resources. Making a video might help." "You know, i actually submitted a list. Typed it up myself, and left it with that young man that has the earring in his cheek." Barbara hummed.
Janine went on about how easy the video would be, and even said something about barbara needing a new stapler. "My kids have everything they need. And there is nothing wrong with my stapler. " She said as she continued to struggle.
"Hey ya'll, borrowing the teachers granola." Ava announced. "Normally I try and give ya'll space to talk about your hondas or whatever, but i ran out of oats in my earthquake kit." She smilled. "Ava, we don't even have earthquakes." Nina said, confused. "That's what everyone says, till they wake up and their kitchen is across the street." She replied matter of factly.
Ava saw Janine using TikTok and mentioned something about softening elbows. Mr Johnson soon entered after that. Jacob looked into the trashcan. "Oh whoa, you're not throwing that away are you. Jacob asked. "The bloody paper towel, or the hustle and bustle magazine?" "This beauty." He said, grabbing the large printer out of the trash. Everyone exclaimed in disgust. "That's deffinetely my que." Nina said, shoving her book in her bag and leaving.
Confession: Jacob has alway had a reduce, reuse, recycle kind of spirit. But that doesn't exactly make it any less gross. Nina shuddered.
Nina shot Melissa a text. Hey, Mel. I know it's a school night, but do you think i might be able to come over tonight. My siblings are coming into town soon, and I want them to be impressed with my cooking. She hit enter. Nina stared at her phone waiting for a reply. Melissa replied: Yeah, come on over. Can't wait to have you ❤️. Can't wait to be there 😉. Nina replied
Nina smiled down at her phone, before one of her students came in. Nina was helping her kids learn how to find the sum and difference of various math problems, when Janine stopped by asking about her wishlist video.
"Hey, can you tell me how this looks?" Janine asked. "Yeah, come on in." Nina smiled. Janine pulled her phone out and showed Nina. "Oh that's very nice, Nene. But it seems like it's missing something. Nina furrowed her eyebrows. "Well yeah, i was going to add little pictures above my head, just as soon as i found out how to." Janine started poking at her phone. "I don't think that's it. It just needs a little more pazazz. Nina made subtle jazz hands. "Maybe you should ask Ava for help. You know she's quite the show stopper." Nina nodded. "You're right. Janine smiled. Thanks. "Bye Ms. Esposito, bye kids!" Janine waved to the class. "Goodbye Ms Teagues." All the kids waved back.
