"Mel." I whispered softly. She held me tightly against her as we laid down. Her alarm went off earlier, but I had shut it off already.

"Melissa." I whispered again, trying to wiggle out of her grasp.

"Mphm." She groaned, as I pulled one of her arms away from me.

"Melissa. We've got work."

"5 more minutes." She whispered back, snaking her arm around my waist.

"No." I said sternly, trying to move away from her again, but to no avail.

"Please?" She opened her eyes this time, her fingers running through my hair.

I looked over to the clock, then back at her, noticing a slight smirk on her face.

"Fine." I rolled my eyes jokingly.

Today, I was going back to work. It didn't matter that much since it was friday, but i was kind of happy to be back. Melissa and I had gotten ready together but we left separately. She didn't want anyone to think anything if we showed up together, and I respected that.

She left some time before me, but I got to work before her. It was a little strange, but I didn't really think about it.

While heading to my classroom I noticed the little Open house flyers that were littered on the cork board.

"Shit." I whispered to myself. I had forgotten all about it.

Confession: "Open house wasn't even that big of a deal around here, but it still made me a little nervous. You never knew which parent was gonna cuss you out or say something that made you not even want to show up for the rest of the year." I shook my head. "Of course all the parents weren't like that, but still, it was stressful."

I was almost in my classroom, when I heard a squeal. I whipped my head around, slightly scared, only to see Jacob running at me with open arms. He bottled into me, almost knocking me over.

"Nina! Oh god, I missed you so much." He said dramatically. "I swore I was gonna come see you if you didn't come today, no matter what Melissa said. But thank god you're back-" He shook my shoulders softly. "And you look even better than before- I guess that herbal remedy I recommended really helped out." He bumped my hip.

"Yeah, It did." I smiled awkwardly at the camera.

"Anyway, it's open house today, and we're gonna order some food, play some games, and chill out till it's over- with the exception of meeting with a few parents."

"Mhm. Like we always do." We walked into the classroom together and I sat my stuff down.

We walked right back out, still talking until we got to the gym, where Janine was hesitantly trying to play double dutch.

The girls were swinging the rope, and she just stood there, holding her dress and preparing herself, until Jacob jumped in.

"Wha- Jacob! That was my turn!" She said, slightly annoyed.

Jacob sang a little rhyme, ignoring her as he jumped, somehow managing to turn around at the same time.

Jacob and I had been in the break room for sometime, talking with everyone while waiting for school to start, when we randomly mentioned something about scrabble

"Wait, I don't get it. Aren't we gonna have to spend time talking to parents at the open house?" Gregory asked.

"I have to remember that this is your first open house." Barbara laughed, clasping her hands together.
