Taylor
It was finally the first regular season home game and to say that I am nervous is an understatement. I had woken up at the same time Abby did so we decided to go and get a coffee together and then drive to the stadium. Pulling up to Starbucks I can't stop my hands from shaking with nerves "Are you super nervous too Ab?" I ask looking at her and she nods.
I am relieved to know it's not just me "And especially because this is our first actual home game" she says and I nod and then order us our coffees and food. After I pull up into the drive thru and get a phone call. I look at my dashboard to see it's Joe making me smile slightly "Awh you better answer" Abby says making me roll my eyes. I click answer "Hello Mr QB1" I say making him laugh "Hello Miss. Ben-Gal" he says making me blush "You guys ready for the first game today?" he asks.
I take a deep breath "Yes but I am so nervous like this is our first time being on the big screen and everything" I say truthfully "I know but you guys are going to be amazing I've watched you practice and you've even practiced in front of just me so you'll be fine" he says making me blush when he says his last part.
I look at Abby who's giving me a look "I know, thanks Joe when are you guys getting to the stadium?" I ask paying for our stuff, I even got Joe something to be nice, when he responds "I'm already here I can come find you to make sure you're still ok" he laughs.
I roll my eyes "Ok I will call you when I'm there ok?" I say and then we say bye and the moment I hang up Abby asks "You've practiced in front of him?" she laughs making me blush "Oh hush drink your coffee" I say giving it to her.
-At the stadium-
We both walk in and I look at Abby "I'll be there soon" I say walking to where Joe is "Ok! No hooking up we have to perform!" she calls making me give her a look before turning the corner. I walk to Joe and smile "Hey you!" I say handing him his coffee "I figured you needed one" I say making him smile "You're the best" he says taking it and places it on the table next to him.
I wait till it's on the table before throwing my arms around his neck hugging him. I feel his arms go around my waist hugging me back "I'm so nervous Joe" I say pulling away slightly "I feel like I will mess up" I say and he looks at me "Taylor, you are the most talented person on this team you are going to do amazing ok?" He says making me smile.
I lean in to kiss him when we're interrupted by who? Yup you guessed it. Stacey. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard "Oh Joe, I had fun at your place last night" she says smirking and walks away. I scoff then look at him "She was at your place last night?" I ask stepping away "What? No! I don't even know what she's talking about!" he says trying to pull me back to him but I just move away "No leave me alone" I say looking at him shaking my head "Have fun with her" I walk back to the cheerleaders locker room and walk in.
I sniffle and sit in front of my mirror. Sadie stops mid lip stick and looks at me "Tay what's wrong?" she asks getting the attention of Angela and Abby and I look at them trying not to cry "Apparently Stacey was at Joe's last night" I say just losing it. I put my head in my hands and cry "Awh honey" Abby says hugging me and the other join.
I shake my head "I can't believe he did that" I cry and look at them "I mean especially after the date we went on last night?" I sniffle looking at them "That's what doesn't make sense" Abby says thinking but just goes back to getting ready.
-During the game-
I was on the sideline with the cheerleaders smiling and doing our routine. The game however was not going good. We were losing and Joe was not making any passes. It was finally half time and as we're walking back to the field I hear someone call my name making me turn around seeing Sam walk up.
Which is odd because Sam never really talks to me. I look at the girls then him "What's up? I am about to perform" I ask and he sighs "Look I just wanted to let you know that Joe didn't get with Stacey last night she's just trying to get in your head" he says.
I sigh and look at him not believing it "After your guys date me, him, and Ja'Marr played video games at Joe's house no Stacey involved at all ok?" he asks as I hear Kara calling my name and I nod "I'll talk to him after ok?" I say before running onto the field and Abby and the others give me a look "I'll explain after the game" I say getting in my starting position.
-After the game-
Me an the girls were walking out to my car when I seen Joe standing there waiting. I sigh and look at them "Give a few minutes ok?" I say and walk over to him. He looks up from his phone sitting up. I do feel bad for him losing his game so I give him a hug "I'm sorry you lost today" I say and he hugs me back "Tay I am so sorry, I never did anything with Stacey I swear" he says.
I look up at him "I know Sam told me and I believe you I just hate I let her get to me, I'm sorry" I say and he puts his hands on my cheeks "Don't worry about it ok?" he asks and I nod leaning in to kiss him when again we're interrupted.
"Taylor!" I hear making me look over seeing Sophie and my family making my jaw drop "No way!" I say smiling running up to them and giving them a hug. I pull away and look at everyone "What are you guys doing here?" I ask laughing slightly "Joe invited us" my mom says making me turn to him as he comes up "You did?" I ask and he nods making me smile "Thank you" I hug him as his parents come up too. I say hi, having already met his parents at the away game. I cant help but smile.
Joe is truly one of a kind.
