Today Sophie was going back home and it was also another home game for the bengals. Since Sophie got the early plane I said I would drive her and both Sam and Joe said they would come with. Sam and Sophie had gotten SUPER close this trip. Can almost call me cupid if you will.
My alarm went off making me groan not wanting to wake up but I know we had to. I forgot Joe was sleeping next to me so when I stretch I accidentally hit him in the face which makes him wake up. I try not to laugh covering my mouth "Well good morning to you too" he says holding his cheek. I sit up and look at him "I'm so sorry I forgot you slept over tonight babe" I say moving his hand to see if there's a mark "Luckily I didn't hit you that hard so no mark" I say kissing where I hit him "Better?" I ask making him roll his eyes.
We both get up and get ready. I decide to just throw on one of Joe's tshirts and a pair of shorts and then throw on my flip flops deciding that it should be fine for the air port. I walk to the guest room while Joe gets ready knocking on Sophie's door "Come in" she calls out so I open the door "You ready?" I ask and she nods making me pout. She looks at me seeing "Awh no don't do that yet" she says coming up and hugging me.
I hug her tightly "You know you could just move here" I say making her laugh "I might if things go well with me and Sam" she jokes and I laugh at that "Remember to thank me in your wedding speech" I say as we both laugh again. Joe comes to the room smiling at us "You girls ready? We still gotta go and get Sam" he says and we nod pulling away "Maybe we'll have time to stop at dunkin too" he says taking Sophie's suitcase to put in the car.
Me and her look at each other and almost run out the door when he says that. Joe looks at us and shakes his head "Really? a bribe of coffee is what got you guys moving?" he asks rolling his eyes.
-at the airport-
I was standing with Joe while Sophie was saying bye to Sam. Once she's done with him she hugs Joe "You better take care of my best friend" she says making him laugh "Oh I will trust me" he says hugging her back. Soon they pull away and she turns to me. I was trying so hard not to cry but the moment she hugs me we both lose it.
I sniffle before saying "I will come home to Philly to visit soon when we play the Eagles ok?" I ask pulling away and she nods "Please do!" she says as we both wipe our tears "Ok I should get going I have to go through TSA and everything" she says and I nod "Text me when you're home ok?" I ask and she nods hugging me one more time.
I hug her again "Again Tay, I am so happy for you and hope everything with you and Joe go so well" she says and I smile and nod "Love you babes" I say as she gets her stuff and waves before walking away. Once she's in the airport I look at the boys "Ready?" I ask and Joe nods then gives the keys to Sam "Can you drive so I can sit with her to make sure she's ok?" he asks and Sam nods.
We all get into the car and me and Joe sit in the back as I lay my head on his shoulder. Just like that I am counting down the days till we're in Philly.
-At the game-
I was standing with Abby and Sadie getting ready in the locker room for the cheerleaders as Angela comes in "Guess what I just found out?" she asks sitting with us "What?" Abby asks as I put her eyelashes on her.
I look at Angela as I finish the one lash "Stacey got fired" she says making everyone stop and look at Angela "Wait what!?" Sadie asks looking at her. Angela nods "Apparently someone reported how she has been around Joe and other players so they fired her" she says.
I honestly feel better I grab my phone and call Joe to see if he knows the news. He soon answers "Hey I'm about to go out and practice what's up?" he asks "Did you hear who got fired?" I ask. He answers confused "No who?" I chuckle knowing his reaction is going to be good.
"Stacey apparently someone reported how she was around you and other players" I say and I can just tell his jaw is dropped "No way I wonder who reported her" he says and I nod "Same ok I just wanted to tell you that you go practice and we have to finish getting ready" I say "Ok I will see you on the field I love you" he says shocking me as he hangs up.
I just look at my phone and Sadie and Angela look at me "Did he just say I love you?" They ask and I nod looking at them "Yeah he did..." I say speechless. Kara calls for everyone to be ready soon so we quickly do however I can't stop thinking about what Joe said. I mean we have been dating for over a month so it does seem right but I hate that he hung up so fast.
We soon make it out to the field and do when they announce the players. I just put on a smile and do what I have to do however I am super distracted because my mind keeps going back to what Joe said. We continue and do our routines however, every easy move I am messing up. It's making me frustrated and once we're done Kara calls me over to her.
I just know she's not going to be excited "Tay what's going on? That was the easiest routine and you normally kill it" she asks and I sigh "Just a lot on my mind" I say and she nods "Why don't you take a bit to collect yourself" she suggests walking me over to where we can just chill out. What I didn't expect was Joe would be there.
He looks at me and smiles waving. I just smile slightly and do a little wave then he goes back to talking with his teammates. I stand there and take him all in to think do I love him too? I mean of course I have grown feelings for him. He is the one I think about a future with, I count down the seconds till I get to be around him, he made sure I was ok earlier when we dropped Sophie off at the airport.
He is always there to make sure I am okay and has never made me second guess anything and I love how he is on and off the field. I love his confidence and just how he is always there for my friends too. God I love him. Holy crap I am totally crazy in love with Joe. Luckily right now it's defense playing because what I am about to do could be the craziest thing I have ever done.
I walk up to him making him look at me "Hey babe" he says and I just lean up kissing him with so much passion and love making people go crazy. He seems shocked but then kisses back just the same way. I pull away and look him in the eyes "I love you too" I say making him smile as they call for offense. He kisses my cheek before running onto the field.
I smile and walk back to the cheerleaders not able to wipe off my smile.
I love Joe Burrow.
