A/N: The next two chapters will basically be of the same week but from both Buck's side in LA and Eddie's side in Austin, Texas.

Buck's POV *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

After sending Eddie to the airport, Christopher and I decided to go get groceries to make dinner that night. We bought eggs, bacon and maple syrup, etc. to create our 'masterpiece' (as Chris likes to call it). Breakfast for dinner was a success. Christopher mostly ate pancakes, which I couldn't complain about, considering just how happy he was. We called Eddie and he gave us a tour of his hotel room. Eddie and I chatted on our own after Chris had gone to sleep while I tidied up the house. It had only been a few hours, but I was already starting to feel myself missing him.

The next morning, or I should say the next three mornings, I woke up extra early to prepare breakfast and Christopher's lunch. I then sent the kiddo to school, where I bumped into Karen or Hen several times as they came to drop Denny off. Then, off to work, I went before heading to Eddie's home to relieve Carla of her nannying duties.

That Thursday was no exception, but it was the evening that was extremely memorable. Just after calling Eddie so Chris could say 'goodnight' to his dad to be exact. Christopher had talked to Eddie on his own tonight, while I deep-cleaned the kitchen (we found cockroaches in the cabinets, but Eddie didn't have to know that). Chris told his dad about his test scores, which were beyond satisfactory, and Eddie had promised to buy him a new Lego set when he got back. They talked for what seemed like forever before Chris finally put down the phone.

Kiddo walked back into his room, and a few minutes later, I came in to tuck him in.

"Goodnight, Dad - I mean Buck." Chris had said, all wrapped up in his blanket like a burrito.

I was shocked. And a little in awe. He said it so normally that it didn't truly process until a few moments later.

"Goodnight, kiddo," I responded, ruffling his fluffy hair.

I made my way out of his bedroom and into Eddie's. I sat on the bed for a good minute before ringing Eddie.

"He called me 'Dad', Eds." I said, still on cloud nine. Eddie looked up from his book and grabbed the phone from where it stood on his hotel desk.

"How does that make you feel?" Eddie asked me cautiously. I could see the sparkle in his eye. I've always known that Eddie wants me to be his son's other dad. He has made that clear since the beginning of our relationship. But I didn't expect Chris to title me so quickly.

"A little bit in awe. He really is my kid in so many ways. I just didn't expect him to call me that. " I replied.

Eddie chuckled and smiled at his phone. We continued talking for a while, discussing our day and how happy we both were that Christopher had called me 'dad'.

The next afternoon after school, I dropped Christopher off at his friend, Grant's birthday party, talking to many of the other parents as I did. Many of them recognised me from a news article discussing the lightning strike. It was a bit awkward, but I also didn't really want to leave Christopher just yet, so I persevered. When I finally got home, I was hit with a sudden wave of loneliness. It was just so quiet without the two Diazes around.

On Saturday, I picked Christopher up from Grant's home just before my shift started. At the boy's home, I bumped into Karen. And she admitted something to me that I didn't think anyone would find out so soon.

"Denny told me something quite interesting a few days ago." Karen started, looking over at me. I could tell this could potentially become a really awkward conversation but allowed her to continue.

"He told me that you are now Christopher's other dad. Because you're with his dad, so naturally, you now become his other dad. " Karen continued while smirking, earning a grimace from me.

"Does Hen know too?" I asked, fearing the sequence of revelation if she did know. My fears came true when Karen nodded.

I sent Christopher to his great aunt Pepa's house for the day before clocking into my 24-hour shift. On the way there, I made sure to call Eds to warn him that the entire 118 might already know about us.
