The following evening, Buck found himself waiting outside Eddie's house in his Jeep, nervously tapping on his steering wheel. Why was he so nervous? It's not like he's never been out with Eddie but this was different. Very different. They weren't going out as friends. They were going out as more than friends and less than lovers. Buck groaned, trying to decide if fewer buttons or more buttons would look nicer on his shirt.
Eddie finally appears at his front door, fumbling with his keys and saying his goodbyes to Carla and Christopher. He scoped the front of his house until he spotted the familiar black Jeep parked next to his own car. He made his way to Buck's passenger side, flattening out his unruly hair.
Inside, the two firefighters greeted each other with a hug, Buck surprising Eddie by giving him a kiss on the cheek mid-embrace. The car ride was relatively quiet, with the occasional question here and there. Buck gripped the wheel as if the wheel itself was threatening to come loose. Eddie noticed this and placed his hand on the other's thigh, smiling at him.

At the restaurant, Buck and Eddie enjoyed several plates of fried rice and dumplings, while simultaneously enjoying the view in front of them.
"Thank you, Evan". Eddie finally said, reaching across the table to take Buck's hand. The other man turned as red as a beet at the mention of his first name, somehow enjoying when Eddie called him that.
"For what?" Buck finally managed to choke out, having stuffed his face with fried rice.
Eddie chuckled, stroking his thumb over Buck's hand, "for this. For taking me out and making effort to do something nice for me. I really did enjoy tonight".
"Of course, Eddie. You mean a lot to me. I'm glad you enjoyed tonight. I enjoyed it as well. I'm hoping I can take you out on more dates. And maybe take Chris out as well to see that new Super Mario Bros movie". Buck smiled at Eddie, glancing down at their still interlaced fingers.
"God, I'm so glad to have you in my life, cariño. Even on a date you still think about my son". Eddie was essentially staring at Buck with heart eyes at this point.
After paying, Eddie suggested that Buck came over so they could wind down with their favourite tradition of watching a bad movie and drinking beers.
***TIME SKIP***
Buck and Eddie had just come back from a perfect date. They had spent the night talking and laughing, enjoying each other's company, and Buck had felt something stir in his chest that he had never felt before. As they entered the Diaz residence, Buck couldn't help but feel a flutter of nervousness in his stomach. Even though he had been to Eddie's house a billion times, this time felt different.
After they bade Carla goodbye, the two men glanced into Christopher's bedroom to find him fast asleep.
Eddie disappeared into the kitchen, and Buck followed him, watching as he rummaged around in the fridge for something to drink. Buck hopped up onto the counter, admiring the way Eddie's muscles moved under his dress shirt as he worked.
As Eddie turned around with two beers in hand, he stole a glance at Buck and their eyes met. Buck felt a jolt of electricity run through him as he looked into Eddie's dark eyes, and before he knew it, Eddie was stepping into the space between Buck's legs, closing the distance between them.
Their lips met in a soft, gentle kiss, and Buck felt his heart swell with joy. He had never felt so alive before, and the feeling of Eddie's lips on his own was like nothing he had ever experienced.
For a moment, they stayed like that, their lips pressed together, lost in the moment. Then Eddie pulled back, his eyes locking onto Buck's.
"That was... wow," Eddie said, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Buck grinned, his heart beating faster than ever. "That's one way to put it."
They shared another quick kiss, and Buck knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together. But for now, he was content to just be with Eddie, enjoying the feeling of finally sharing their first kiss. The men stayed embracing for a moment just breathing in the other's presence.
"Dad?"
A/N: *GASP* The men were so entrapped by each other that they forgot about their son sleeping in the other room. How ever will they explain this to Christopher?
Stay tuned for the next chapter coming as soon as I myself figure out how to write out the moment lmao
