Whassup, everyone! Just a quick a/n before I post the next chapter in the next few days, but I wanted to ask y'all something.
I was on Twitter recently and I saw that a lot of 9-1-1 fans are very against Christopher calling Buck 'Bucky' in fanfictions or fanart. And some people are also against Buck calling Eddie 'Eds'. They're saying it's because it's not canon, but honestly, isn't that the whole point of headcanons? Things that aren't actually part of a show/book/film that fans wish were true get written and drawn out so everyone can live out and enjoy what we've been deprived of by the actual creators.
But back to the whole Chris calling Buck 'Bucky' thing. One of the replies was someone saying that it was because people like to infantilise disabled people, which I feel is heavily against the case. I get that Christopher is like 12 years old already, and if you're writing fanfiction during the s6 era, then it might be kind of weird, but it has nothing to do with him having CP. It's just a nickname?
I don't know, this was just my two cents on the issue since I don't really think there is an issue. But I might be wrong and my judgement may be clouded as an able-bodied person, so feel free to comment with your thoughts :)
