Just as I am about to sit down to relax with my nice hot cup of coffee there is banging on my door.
I contemplate on whether answering or not, but I decide to do it when I realize it might be the police because of last night's incident.
I calmly place my cup of coffee on the coffee table and then go to get the door.
As soon as I open the door the person bursts right into my house without me getting to see who it is. I then see Gianna standing there with a nervous smile and I motion for her to enter. I close the door and turn around to see Leonid, Gianna's husband, looking at me like he wants to literally kill me and cut me into pieces.
My thoughts are correct because after I take a few steps to get my coffee, he points a gun at me.
I'm confused.
"Leonid, if you don't put that fucking gun down or if you hurt her, I will divorce you this instant." Gianna threatens standing right in front of me.
Of course, her threat works because he puts it down with an irritated look on his face and a sigh. That just pissed him off more.
"What is happening?" I lightly question just as my door bursts open from behind me.
I turn around to see Morelia, Akim, and the officer from last night. I become more confused. Am I missing something?
"Katya, please tell me that you weren't the one who stole their mother's jewelry." Gianna pleads me with her words and eyes while standing in front of me.
There is so much to process in what she just asked.
"They know who you are." Morelia answers one of the two questions I have.
Well, fuck.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I genuinely tell Gianna and if the clear confusion on my face doesn't make it clear then I don't know what will.
"Akim and Leonid's mother's jewelry was stolen. It's worth millions." Morelia informs me and it honestly makes sense as to why they think I would be the one behind that.
"Well, it wasn't me and I don't have it." I state very clearly looking at both Akim and Leonid.
"Then who else could it have been?" Akim questions but the look Morelia sends him causes the little threatening look on his face to sort of fizz out.
"I don't know." I genuinely don't know or have an idea. Why would I?
"You can have your house raided and you could possibly go to prison for this." The officer informs me as if I would care.
"Okay? Do you want me to magically make the diamonds appear in front of me or what?" I look at the three men in question.
"Do it. Look through every inch of this house but you won't find anything. You all also don't have proof that it was me that did it." I calmly tell them because it's the truth.
I don't even know what these diamonds look like. I've never cared to learn them knowing who they belong to.
"There also isn't any proof that I'm a thief." I add in just in case they try anything with that information.
All the things I've stolen aren't here. It would be very dumb of me to keep them in my own home where my brothers also live. I'm glad they are at school at the moment or else they would be anxious or terrified of this little situation because of what happened with our parents when they were caught.
I walk back to the couch where I was about to sit and relax at. I take my cup of coffee back in my hands to warm them up from the gloomy weather today and I let my muscles relax.
I take a small sip, savoring the rich and delicious flavor.
I feel everyone's stare at me, and I look over at them. The men are looking at me like I'm crazy or like they didn't expect for me to be so calm.
Morelia and Gianna are obviously used to my calmness. It isn't anything new and I've always been like this.
"Would any of you like a cup of coffee?" I decide to offer since I have some left.
I'm also not sure when they'll leave so maybe they can sit down too.
"You guys can take a seat too." I add in causing Morelia to smile and Gianna to let out a small chuckle. Leonid immediately looks at her she only offers him a smile in return for his enraged looking face.
"Thank you, but we're leaving now." Morelia responds motioning for her husband and the officer to start heading for the door.
"We'll just meet soon for tea, coffee, or a wine evening." Gianna tells me and I give her a small nod in agreement.
I watch as she grabs her husband by the arm and practically drags him out my house.
When I'm finally left alone, I go back to where I had left off. I relax on my couch enjoying the warmth my mug is transmitting onto my hands. I let out a deep breath and clear my mind from everything that has been happening.
There's too much going on in my life in just about a day or two and I'm going to take this small moment to myself.
I have a very grand feeling that something is going to happen. Probably even more than one thing and I'm not sure if I'm prepared for it or not.
My calmness can sometimes be a curse, but it also protects me. What happened last night was a glimpse of what can happen when I'm driven to the point where I'm not myself. It's never happened before, and it honestly surprises me that I caused all of that damage to a place. I don't even remember it, it's like I blacked out from the fury of what had happened.
I usually make my revenge plans to where they're very well calculated and relaxed. If my aunt is in danger, then I don't think such a plan exists.
I'm going to have to prepare for whatever pain is to come.
I'm sure that is what it is.
