Chapter Nineteen

Jesses POV

Knox smiled at me.

"They loved you. My mom couldn't stop smiling as you talked to each other." As he pulled me closer.

"Really?" I asked still unsure.

"Yes I'm sure. Before they left to their RV. They told me how much they loved you." As Knox smiled more causing me to smile.

"I'm glad they liked me. I was really nervous. Since they are known in the rodeo world." I said as I looked at Knox before continuing.

"I noticed how Stetson was following you around." I said remembering how Stetson kept following Knox and wanting to talk to him. I guess he really looked up to Knox.

"Yeah. It felt like old times. But him and I are good friends. I stopped talking to my friends that I've made from rodeos when I stopped bullfighting. I didn't have a mate and I was starting to feel down. But now that I have you everything feels amazing." As he looked at me with so much love.

"How did we not meet sooner. We live in the same town. We gone to the same rodeos just never at the same time. How come we didn't meet sooner. If we would have I would've never met those jerks." I said getting a little mad.

"Why?" I said with a little growl.

"Hey calm down. I don't know the answer to your questions. But all that matters is that we have each other now." Knox resting his forehead on mine.

"But all the suffering I went through. When we could have been together sooner." I said calmly but still upset.

"It's over. We have each. Let's just live our lives happily." As he laid my head on his chest as I listened the his heartbeat.

As I listened to his heartbeat I started to calm down and started to get sleepy.

"That's right listen to my heartbeat." As he massaged my head as his heartbeat lulled me to sleep.

Knox POV

When I finally lulled her sleep. I couldn't help but to think about all the questions she asked.

Why did it take so long for us to find each other. We live in the same town. Went to the same rodeos but never at the same time.

I guess the moon goddess has her reasons.

But I almost lost my mind. That's why I had to stop bullfighting. I didn't want to.

But now the boys and I are going to have a comeback. We talked about it and we are definitely having a comeback.

Maybe Jesse and I can even partner up too.

As all these thoughts were swirling through my head my eyes started to droop. So I let sleep takeover looking forward to the next day with my mate.

Jesses POV

I started to wake up from a wonderful sleep and when my eyes landed on Knox sleeping face I couldn't help but study his handsome face. He looked so at peace.

"Having fun watching me sleep." Knox said a little groggy.

"Yes. You look so at peace." I said smiling as he opened his eyes smiling back at me.

"How did you sleep?" I asked as I ran my fingers through his scalp getting a low growl from him.

"Amazing." Before he pulled me down on top of him burying his nose in the crook of my neck inhaling my scent.

"I used to hate waking up in the mornings." As he inhaled my scent.

"I love waking up to someone who loves me." I said as I enjoyed our time together before we had to get up to start the day

"Everyone will be here soon. I'm sure Stetson will be excited to hang with you again." I said as I reluctantly started to get up along with Knox.

We got dressed and ready for the day.

When we walked out of our room hand in hand.

"Aww it's the love birds." Ryder said when he saw us walk out of the room.

Mia just smack him in the head causing us to laugh.

"Hey I'm going to check the horses and feed them and water. I'm also going to check the stalls." Tyler said walking to the door.

"I'll help." I said heading towards the door.

"Want me to come?" Knox asked.

"If you want." I said getting a smile from Knox before he took my outstretched hand.

The horses were fed, watered. The stalls just needed to be picked. Nothing much.

But when I was taking the wheel barrel to dump the poop when a voice stopped me dead in my tracks.

"There you are. How is my fiance." As I turned to look at the prick who cheated me and switched the brides two weeks before the wedding.

"What are you doing here?" I asked tartly.

Why did he have this erie smile.

"I came to see my wonderful fiance compete. Who knew you made so much money. I just thought these were just silly competitions. But who knew you could make a lot of money." Derrick said as he came closer as I backed away.

Of course I don't have my gun on me this one time.

"Derrick we broke up. And I have a mate so back off." I said glaring at him.

"We both know you still love me. Why don't we celebrate us getting back together." He said before he took a hold of me.

"Get your hands off me." I said pushing him away from me because having his hands on me made want to vomit.

But he didn't listen and grabbed me again.

"I suggest you let go of my mate before you lose your hands." Knox growled causing my ex to let go of me.

Knox position himself in front of me making me feel safe and protected.

I know how to fight because my dad taught my brothers and I to fight since he's a former navy seal.

And I had the situation under control. But it's nice to have a partner to protect me too.

"Now why did you have your hands on my mate?" Knox growled causing Derrick to back up a little.

"Well I was just coming to see my fiance compete. Who knew you could make so much money from these rodeos." Derrick said with a smug smile.

"You cheated on her. Left her two weeks before the wedding. And now you want her back for her money." Knox said calmly but still scary.

"No I just realized she's the one for me." He said lying through his teeth.

"Baby you want to take this." Knox said looking at me.

"Love to." I said before walking over to Derrick and punching him dead in the face.

Before walking back to take Knox hand.

"I think you got your answer." Knox said before we walked away from my ex holding his bloody nose.
