Chapter 61- Halloween

Mrs Cooper and Betty managed to bring Edgar and his farmies down. Mom left to go back to Chicago leaving just me and Archie. We also received a weird video tape of our house being watched from across the street.
I arrive at school with Betty, some idiots dressed as the gargoyle king. I take Betty's hand and pull her into the student lounge
"B, you ok?" Veronica asks as we sit down, she's obviously took notice of how freaked out Betty looks
"Um, I'm not gonna lie. I'm a little on edge this Halloween. I mean, people are dressed up like the Black Hood and the Gargoyle King. And there are those damn videotapes"
"I'm with you, girl. Ever since my dad broke into the Pembrooke,ve been looking over my shoulder. And if the town's got a voyeur now..."
"What's up, guys?" Reggie's walks into the room with a spring in his step "Who wants to TP Mr. Honey's office with me tomorrow night?"
"Reggie, it's senior year. We're seniors" Betty chuckles
"Exactly. It's senior year. This is our last Halloween at Riverdale High"
"I'm in Reggie" Kevin replies
"What? Kev why?"
"Honey gave me a week's detention for going to the bathroom without a hall pass"
"You know what I'm in as well" I sigh crossing my arms
"Rory come on don't be stupid"
"Hey I need to get my frustration out in some way"
"Yo Red" Monroe walks into the student lounge "You remember that crew that was working
out of the arcade? Dodger and his boys? He's still pissed that he got beat up and jumped by... That, uh, vigilante.They're planning on wilding Halloween night.Looking to bust some heads"
"Sounds like the freaking Ghoulies" i mutter
"Damn it. The kids in the neighborhood
will be sitting ducks. We gotta do something"
"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe keeping the center open later than usual"
"Why don't you guys host a Halloween party at the community center?" Veronica suggests
"That's not a bad idea actually" I nod agreeing. The bell rings telling us to head to class, I walk with Reggie over to maths, which I also happen to have with Sweet Pea although he's been out of school now for 2 weeks. Doubt I'll see him today
"How are you doing by the way?" Reggie asks
"Well I'm not crying myself to sleep at night now, but I still don't know why we broke up. Like there was no actual reasoning other than him maybe thinking that I was cheating on him"
"Things will work themselves out"
We walk into class and to my amazement Sweet Pea is sat at his desk with his head down "you ok?" Reg asks. I give him a small smile and nod before making my way to my own desk.

"You know, this persona that you've cultivated, Mr. Mantle, this prankster, this class clown, has made it impossible for your peers and your teachers to take you seriously. And now your dragging Miss Andrews down"
"I mean I choose to tag along. Reggie didn't force me"
"Do you think this has anything to do with your father abusing you? Or the passing of your father" I stare and Mr Honey to shocked to speak
"What?"
"People won't notices the bruises or the pain if
they're laughing at one of your jokes"
"As a principal, if you think he's being abused shouldn't you be doing something about it rather than lecturing us?" I frown at the man
"The thing is, they aren't laughing with you Mr Mantle. They're laughing at you"
"Wow great principle we've got here" I cross my arms over my chest and lean back in my chair
"You can both think about what you've done while you clean up my office" with the Mr Honey gets up and leaves the room letting Reggie and I get to work
"I'm sorry I dragged you into this"
"You didn't drag me into anything. I chose to be here and I chose to TP his office. And anyway no way was I letting you have all the satisfaction of seeing his face" I chuckle "now come on we best get cleaning"
