Chapter 67- Varsity Blues

It's spirit week this week at Riverdale high and for the first time in years we all have something to celebrate. The bulldogs are finally going to the state finals where we are going to take on the stonewall stallions. Uncle Frank is here (dads brother) not that mom is to happy about that. But annoyingly though the vixens have a couch, Miss Appleyard
"How can I help you, Cheryl?" Me Honey asks as we all walk into his office
"We're going on strike. During Spirit Week, no less. You must fire Miss Appleyard. She's a rotten scourge who has afflicted our divine sisterhood. I'd hate for there to be a big Vixens-shaped hole uring the most important football game of the year. Nay, the century"
"Hm. I usually don't respond well to threats. But in this case, I'll consider it"
"Perfect. Let's go ladies" we all follow Cheryl out of his office. As we're walking down the hall I'm pulled away from the other girls and end up in the arms of a certain giant. Sweet Pea
"Have I ever told you how much I love your vixens uniform"
"Im sure you've said it once or twice, but I'll happily hear it again"
"Then I love your vixens uniform" Pea smiles and leans down, I meet him half way, kissing him. He pulls away first, moving some hair behind my ear "prom will be coming up soon"
"Hm hum" I hum smiling
"How you you feel about going to prom with me?"
"I thought you'd never ask" I lean up and place another kiss on his lips before we get rudely interrupted by Mr Honey.

Me Honey is now threatening us, that if we don't cheer then we won't go to prom and I really want to go to prom so here I am with the Vixens and Miss Appleyard in the gym learning the cheer routine for the big game. However I'm actually doing this to spy on the cheer routine to report back to Cheryl afterwards. Then afterwards I'll be learning a whole new routine from Cheryl. The door to the gym opens and in walks Fangs and Sweet Pea
"Sorry boys this is a closed practice" Miss Apple Yard states
"Cheryl always let us sit in on their practice?" Fangs frowns
"Yes well I'm not Cheryl and I don't want these girls to be distracted, so I kindly ask you to leave please" Sweet Pea looks at me and I give him a little shrug. As much as I would love him to be in here watching, Miss Appleyard has a point. I will most likely loose focus if Sweet Pea is in the gym watching me
"I'll pick you up and drop you off at Pops later for your shift"
"Thanks Pea" with that they both walk out of the gym
"Ok back to it girls, from the top. 5, 6, 7, 8"

The evening of the big game arrives quickly. I'm in my cheer uniform with Cheryl. She's just locked Miss Appleyard in her office
"Listen up bitches. Appleyard is... indisposed,
so consider this a coup. And before any of you reptiles object, a word to the wise, you owe me this. I've been your fellow Vixen and HBIC
for four grueling years. And I've never turned my back on you. Not like you did to me"
"Rory was in our cheer practices"
"Yeah. Spying on you lot and reporting back"
"Now. Without further ado. Let's cheer our Bulldog brethren onto victory"
We do a cheer routine/dance to cherry bomb then it's time for the game.
Stonewall are playing dirty, but so are we
"Here we go. Last play of the championship game between the Bulldogs and the Stallions. The Bulldogs are going for the two-point conversion and the win"
"Down. Set. Hut!" I hear Archie shout. I stand with the vixens all nervously watching
"Come on" i mutter more to myself. Monroe takes the ball and tries to score, but instead Stonewall do and we loose by 2 points "Damn it". Sweet Pea runs over to me with a sad smile
"Hey" I say giving him a smile in return
"We lost"
"You did your best and I'm proud of you, now why don't we go to pops and I'll buy you anything you want to cheer you up?"
"Your not sad we lost?"
"Oh I am, but I know that you guys must be feeling worse. Go get yourself dressed and we can head over"
"Ok" Pea goes to hug and kiss me but I shake my head
"Your sweaty. Maybe shower as well before we go"
"Ok ok anything for you" he manages to place a kiss on my forehead before running off
"I'm so glad you guys are back together" Cher says walking up to me
"Yeah so am I. Thank you for what you Toni and Reggie did"
