Chapter 66- Tangerine

After the events of thanksgiving, Archie had the idea of having a plaque done in memory of dad at the red centre
"Archie, Rory I need you both to sit down for this" mom says as Archie and I walk into the living room
"What's wrong mom?" I frown, I really don't want any more bad news but the look on mums face says it all. Something is wrong
"Vic, your dads foreman came by earlier. He wants to buy us out of Andrews Construction"
"What? No!" I stand shouting
"We're not selling" Archie says a little more calmly "and I'll tell vic that myself, right after I fire his ass" Archie's phone begins to ring "Toby nows not a good time...what? where are they?...ok I'll deal with it. Thanks Toby" he puts the phone down with a worried face
"Now what?" I ask sighing
"Eddie is in the hospital. Went out looking for Dodger after I told him not to"
"What are you gonna do?" Mom asks
"Speak to Mr Jones that's what"

That evening FP asks Pea and I to put on our Serpent jackets and meet him at the rec centre
"I missed wearing these"
"I know. Me to" Pea says shoving his hands into his pockets
"Ready you two?" FP asks approaching us wearing his own serpent jacket. Pea and I nod following FP down an ally, that's when we see Archie stood with Darla's boys
"Big men huh. Beating up teenagers. Let's see how you do against someone your own size"
"I'll break your bones you old man" one of the men say
"Love to see you try" I give them a sweet smile. Just as I say that FP head buts the one in front of him probably breaking his nose.

"I gotta say that felt good" FP says talking about beating up those two men
"Yeah? We kicked ass" Archie laughs tucking into his pie while we sit at pops
"It's been a while since these fists delivered some proper street justice and this jacket still fits like a glove"
"You think we will ever get the serpents back together?" I ask
"There's not many of us around I'm afraid. Jughead gone to boarding school, Fangs well we don't know where he is at the moment. Toni and Cheryl are doing their own thing. I think it's just us left" FP sighs
"The farm fucked everything up"
"Riot night fucked everything up. That was the catalyst" Archie says finishing off his pie
"Yeah, blame Betty's dad for that. He was the reason everything went to shit" Pea grumbles next to me
"It's getting pretty late guys. What do you say, we all it a night?" FP says just as I hear the bell behind us ding. I look over and see a man in a black hood with a gun
"FP" I point to the man. He fires the gun, Sweet Pea pushes me down then makes sure I'm ok, but FP was shot. Archie takes FP to the hospital while I get on Peas bike and ride with him.

"I can't believe it Mr Jones. I'm so sorry" Archie paces back and forth in FPs room
"For what? It's going to take a whole lot more than a flesh wound for me to regret what we did tonight"
"It was Dodger"
"We don't know that"
"Yeah we do" I turn around and see.... Fangs?
"Fangs" Pea breathes out next to me
"Word on the street, it was Dodger and his crazy-ass mom, Darla. That it was a parting shot before the Dickensons get out of town"
"So, they're still in Riverdale?"
"Yep, loading out the arcade"
"Archie don't you dare" I warn him knowing what he's already thinking
"How about you keep your damn mouth shut, Fangs? You're already on thin ice with me.
And I'm with your sister on this one don't even think about it Red" FP says lying in the hospital bed "We talked about this. You agreed to hang it up for good. Hey!" FP calls once Archie starts to walk out of the room "They're leaving town. Archie! Rory don't go after him. Promise me you won't"
"Ok FP. Now" I turn to Fangs "where the hell have you been?" I push his shoulder
"I errr..." Fangs nervously scratches the back of his neck "the truth? I was was still with the farm for some time. Recently though I've been just laying low until it was safe for me to come back" my phone starts buzzing in my pocket. I ignore it until it buzzes again. Taking my phone out of my back pocket I see Cheryls name across the screen
"We will continue this later, excuse me" I leave the room and answer "hey Cher what's up?... erm yeah I'll be there"

""Thank you all for coming" Cheryl says standing in front of us at sweet water river in the same dress she wore to Jason's funeral, while Jason is lying in a canoe "You all were here
last time I was at this river. When I tried to take my own life. t's only fitting that you're here now which my beloved Toni as I give Jason at long last the funeral he deserves" Cheryl breaks down in tears as she lights up the canoe. I run over to cher and take her in my arms as Jug and Arch push the canoe into the water "shhh" I stroke her hair comforting her. I'm not entirely sure what I missed here, how Jason's body was here, but I'm sure Toni will give me a run down later
"He was a good brother Rory"
"He was Cher"
"I wish Toni could have met him for real" what the hell does that even mean? Has Jason's body been at Thistlehouse?

4 Weeks Later
"He's dead. What did you do Betty?" Archie asks checking Jugheads pulse in the woods.
