Chapter 63- Hereditary Pt2

I sit at Pops anxiously waiting for Sweet Pea to arrive. Every time the bell rings I think it could be him, but it's not.
After 45 minutes of waiting I decided to get up and leave. He's not coming, whatever Toni and Cheryl told him didn't work. Maybe he knew he was being set up. I take my phone out of my pocket and start to type out a message to say I'm leaving and that Sweet Pea didn't even turn up. Suddenly I bump into something hard, a person
"I'm so sorry, I wasn't..." I look up and freeze. Sweet Pea is stood in front of me "hey"
"Hi" he responds. He then looks around as if he's looking for someone. Sweet Pea then looks back at me with a sigh "I'm meant to be meeting up with Toni and Cheryl, but since they aren't here I am assuming they have got bored of waiting for me and left or they were never here in the first place"
"I'd go with the latter"
"So I was set up?"
"Yeah. Look I'm sorry they wanted us to talk. Reggie as well. According to Cheryl we were, are end game"
"Oh"
"I was just leaving so you can call Toni and have a shake here or whatever" I go to move passed him but his hand around my arm stops me
"Unless you'd like to grab a shake together, I think we should talk"
"I'd like that" I move back to the booth I was originally sat in while Sweet Pea orders our shakes from Veronica.
When he returns he sits opposite me
"So how have you been?" I ask him, fiddling with the rings on my fingers
"Honestly? Not great. I've felt rather lonely the last few weeks"
"I still don't understand why you broke up with me. What did I do?" again Sweet Pea sighs
"You had been getting rather close to  Reggie, an ex. And also getting close to Mad Dog. I guess I was jealous. On top of that I lost my best friend to some fucked up farm.The Serpents who were my family are finished, because our leader has left for some smart boarding school, my best friend is all over her girlfriend and I had barley seen you since we started school, but when I saw you with Reggie I got mad. Why did you have time for an ex but not me?"
"Why didn't you tell me any of this?"
"Because you were grieving your dad. I couldn't..."
"Hey woah woah woah hold up. Pea, just because I lost my dad doesn't mean I couldn't help you through your problems. I guess we both neglected our relationship a bit didn't we?" I say realising this isn't all on Sweet Pea. He nods his head agreeing just as Veronica places our drinks in front of us
"I was also scared about collage" he says after a moment of silence
"Why?"
"Well your smart and you'll find a good collage, you'll leave me behind here"
"No matter where I would have gone, I would always have come back to you. Winter break, spring break, summer break"
"That's just it though. I didn't want your lift to revolve around me. You deserved the best, something I couldn't give you" Pea looks down ashamed
"Did it occur to you that maybe I don't want that? I just wanted you"
"I fucked all of this up haven't I?"
"Not at all. I still care a lot about you Pea"
"I care about you as well"
"So what now?" I ask
"If your willing, could I have another chance?" I give Sweet Pea the biggest smile ever
"Of course"

"So are you and Sweet Pea dating again?" Mom asks sitting on the couch with me
"Yes, but we're not starting where we left off. We've gone right back to the start. Going on dates, that sorta thing"
"Well if he hurts you again I'm not going to be to happy"
"Mom..." before I can finish my sentence, or even start it Archie walks through the door
"Mom, Rory we gotta go"
"Go where?" I frown at my frantic brother who's now looking out the window
""I don't know, the Five Seasons maybe.
But you both gotta pack a bag and we gotta get out of here, at least until things cool down" mom and I get up off the couch both feeling very confused
"What things?"
"Arch what's going on?" I now start to feel rather scared
"It's the rec center. Not everyone's happy about
what we're doing there and I've made some enemies" Archie directs this more to mom. We then hear tires screeching and gun shots
"Get down" Archie yells pulling both me and mom down onto the floor.
