Tae's eyes darted across the screen to see if anyone stood out. He knows everyone on campus; he makes it his mission in life to know everyone. He wouldn't have gotten away with so many murders if he didn't. You have to be aware of your surroundings, you have to be able to read people, and you must be smart. Tae was all of those things; he focused on the group of people he knew well: Kim Seokjin, Kim Namjoon, Min Yoongi, Park Jimin, and the baby of the group, Jeon Jungkook.

But a new person was with them, a boy who looked around Namjoon's age. He was smiling, and even if the screens were black and white, it seemed like the sun was coming from him. His hair was dark and flying all over the place as he danced and laughed loudly. Tae's eyes focused on him; he was beautiful, and he left just minutes before Tae walked in. This was perfect; his eyes slid over to the blonde boy sitting at the end of the table watching the newcomer.

"Jimin," he whispered to himself with a smile. He looked at the Beta guard, "Thank you. I think I've found who I was looking for."

It took a few days to plan the meeting; he had to make it look natural. So he grabbed a cup of overly sweet coffee for Jimin and something the barista recommended. It took everything in him not to gag every time he took a drink. But he's a master at masking, so he can pretend, but Lord, does he hate coffee. He waited outside the maths building for Jimin. He charmed the secretary to find Omega's schedule.

As soon as people started leaving the building, he watched out for the mop of blonde hair and prayed that Jimin's Alpha wasn't there; otherwise, this wouldn't work. "Jimin," he yelled happily as he waved at the Omega.

"Tae," Jimin looked confused, not surprisingly. They'd had a few classes together and even got paired up for several projects together. But Tae was never more friendly than he needed to be. "What are you doing here? I thought you were done with your math courses."

"I am, I, here." He held the drink out for Jimin, "Do you still like sugar bombs?"

Jimin snorted as he nodded his head happily, "I do, thank you. It still doesn't explain why you are here, though, and buying me coffee." Jimin gasped. "You want something, don't you?"

Tae blushed; that would be expected. "I do, I'm sorry."

With a soft giggle from the other Omega, Tae wished for the millionth time that he could be a normal and good Omega like Jimin. "There's this new boy, and I think you might know him. He was dancing, and I remembered you were a dance major, so I wondered if you could tell me who he was. He smells like sandalwood and pineapples, and he's really pretty."

Another giggle cut him of. "You mean Hobi? I hate to tell you, you Tae, but he's taken. He has an Omega he's already courting back home. She's supposed to be here next semester. Hobi was going to wait for her, but a spot on the dance team opened up, and she didn't want him to miss out."

Tae's entire world shattered; he could kill her easily. But that would make Hobi sad, and something inside him would be screaming that they couldn't make him miserable. "Oh," was all he said.

Jimin frowned, his eyebrows furrowing as his face fell. "Hey Tae, are you okay? Your scent is kind of strong. I didn't mean to upset you."

His head shook as he tried to control his emotions. He had never felt some of them before, and he wouldn't even be able to name them if he tried. He had spent years in front of the mirror learning how to fake facial expressions so he would know how to react appropriately. But this was entirely different. "I'm fine., I just wanted to get to know him, that's all. "Thank you, Jimin," he mumbled before he turned and ran away.

He made it home somehow. His Omega was doing something, and he wasn't quite sure what, but it almost seemed like he was in anguish over Hobi. But it made no sense. He'd never even met him, only smelled his scent briefly after he'd left the room. But after a week, he still felt things he couldn't describe. He never really found joy in anything other than killing. But the thought of even doing that wasn't enough.

He went to school, continued his masking, and pined over the first wolf he'd ever smelled. "I have to find him," he grumbled as he flopped onto his back, "Hobi isn't a common name. There can't be that many in this damn school."

"I'm sorry, Taehyung, but no Hobi's are enrolled here."

He was getting frustrated. The secretary had always helped him, and he was fairly good at reading people to know if they were lying. That's how he knew Jimin was telling the truth. "Can you check again?"

She huffed out an annoyed breath, "Taehyung I know how to read and I've checked three times already. Are you sure it's not just a nickname?"

Why did he not think of that? Jimin always calls him Tae even though he always introduces himself as Taehyung. Of course, Hobi would be a nickname, but for what? "I'm sorry for bothering you; thank you so much for all of your help." Then he took off; he'd have to find him a different way. All he knows is that he's courting an Omega, he's new here, and he's on the dance team. He's on the dance team; Tae just about wanted to smack himself. How could he forget that?

The dance teams always perform at pep rallies and games. Friday was tomorrow; surely there'd be a game. He saw Jungkook and knew he was a jock, "hi," he gave his best smile. He was fairly sure Jungkook was an Alpha, but without being able to smell, he could never be 100% sure. "Sorry to bug you."

The younger had his eyes wide open in shock, "you aren't," he squeaked out.

"You play sports, correct?"

"Uh yes, I play soccer, why?"

Tae nodded his head because that was great news, "is there a game tomorrow?"

Jungkook nodded his head quickly, his little bunny teeth taking over his smile. "There is a home game against our rivals. Are you going?"

"Of course, now that I know about it. Thanks, Jungkook." He turned around and heard Jungkook suck in a breath and mumble he knows my name.

For the first time since he smelled Hobi, he had hope. He'd get to meet him, a pretty Alpha who smelled fantastic. The game was loud. Everyone screamed as the boys ran around the field, kicking a stupid black-and-white ball. He didn't understand the rules, but he knew that when it was kicked into the net, that was a good thing. So he clapped when everyone else clapped.

Finally, it was halftime; he'd have to sit through the long cheerleading performance and the band before he'd get to see the dance team. But as soon as Hobi stepped onto the field, Tae smelled him, and it was as if his entire body was zoned into the Alpha. He moved like nothing he'd ever seen before, and that was saying something since he'd seen Jimin dance plenty of times around campus.

The beat and lights followed him as he commanded them like a general. Tae was fairly sure he stopped breathing, but he was getting looks from everyone around him. Some Alphas were smirking, the Betas were giving him some side eye, and the Omegas looked worried.

His scent must be going crazy, so he tried his best to rein it in. The part of the game he was most anxious about was almost there," and introducing our newest dance team member, Jung Hoseok."

Gotcha, he mumbled to himself as he got up to leave. He knew he couldn't control his scent, and that was no way to meet the love of his life.
