Part Two; unwanted adventure

Max

"1 hundred million..." Donny chirped, "2 hundred m-"

"Could you shut up?" I snapped. "Your not even counting right".

"Yes I am".

"You should be in the trillions by now".

"Huh?"

I face palmed myself. I swear Donny lost all his brains during birth.

"Guys look at this place". Cemre spoke up.

I turned my attention to the window and watched as we slowly came to a stop infront of a tiny bus station.

"Welcome to Forgotten Pines". The bus driver announced over the radio.

"Why are all these small towns named after pine tree's?" Donny wondered aloud.

"They're meant to be cliche". Was Cemre's answer.

"Oh".

"Come on". Cemre stood up and stretched, "Let's get our luggage".

Donny and I followed him off the bus and around to the back. The driver was already unlocking the side cargo so grabbing our stuff took no less then two minutes.

"Guys". Donny whispered, he tapped both of us on the shoulder then leaned in between us. "There's a weird guy staring at us".

We glanced in the direction he was pointing too.

"Ugh right". Cemre chuckled, "That's Uncle Gavin".

Donny's eyes widened. "Are you serous?!"

My memory of Uncle Gavin was a bit of a blur, but I could say for certain that the man standing across the lot watching us was Dad's brother. He had the same sharp jawline, and same sandy blonde hair as Dad.

"Come on guys". I secured my duffle bag strap across my chest then led the way over to Uncle Gavin.

He greeted us with a smile. "You guys have grown a shit ton since I last saw you".

"Flattery doesn't get a man far". Donny replied bluntly.

Uncle Gavin stared at him for a moment before a loud laugh it worked it's way up his throat. "Oh my boy...flattery gets a man plenty far in this world".

Donny narrowed his eyes. "I don't trust you".

"You must be Donny".

"Maybe".

"And you". Uncle Gavin pointed to Cemre, "Your Max, right?"

"Cemre".

"Right right". He scratched the back of his head. "You all look the same. Well, minus the hair".

"Is this your truck?" I asked, nodding to the blue chevi behind him.

"Yeah".

"Where are we all sitting?" Cemre asked.

The truck was a three seater pick up. No way all four of us, plus are luggage, was going to fit.

"One of you can ride in the bed".

"We can do that here?" Donny gasped with wide excited eyes.

"Yeah. I don't live far. Just a few backroads away".

Uncle Gavin motioned for us to put our luggage in the back and we quickly obliged.

Then without an invitation Donny climbed into the bed.
