ELEVEN

Donny
------------

The girl was simply an angel. She had to be. In all my sixteen years of life I had never seen someone so beautiful. With her straight back black hair and milky skin. I couldn't take my eyes off her. Even when Cemre told me it was getting a bit creepy.

"I'm telling you Donny she's a red flag". Cemre said for the tenth time.

I rolled my eyes at him. "I don't care".

"She's gonna break your heart".

"That's if I have one".

"Dude".

"I just wanna say hi". I defended. "It's not like I'm gonna embarrass myself".

"You say that every time".

I squinted my eyes at him. "Your just bieng a jerk now".

"How's the ice cream?" Onnie chirped, appearing out of no where. She literally gave me a mini heart attack. I had to press my hand against my chest just to be sure that my heart wasn't exploding.

"That's creepy". I told her.

Her wide smile turned even wider. "It's what I do".

"Where's your apron?" Cemre asked. He was referring to the ugly green uniform Onnie had been wearing moments ago.

She threw a thumb over her shoulder. "In the back. I'm off my shift".

"Really?" Cemre's prievously dull voice was replaced with an upbeat tone.

She nodded then strung her hands together. "If you want I could give you a tour of the town".

"Sure!" He quickly folded up his application then slid out of the booth.

"What about me?" I asked in annoyance.

I swear if Cemre ditches me....

"You can come too". Onnie said.

I all but stumbled out of the booth. "Can I invite Isla?"

Before Either of them could give me a reply I was already heading in her direction. I didn't even stop, or breath until I was parked next to the angel's table.

I cleared my throat and Isla Sparrow glanced over.

Be cool Donny.

"I like your hair". I blurted. "It's got witchy vibes".

Smooth Donny Avrill.

I gave myself a mental high five.

"Um...thanks". She responded flatly. There wasn't even a laugh or a smile involved.

"And...your really pretty".

"Look". She sighed, "I'm not interested kid".

"But-"

She turned her attention to the girl sitting across from her, and ignored me.

Harsh.

I felt myself deflate as I shuffled over to where Cemre and Onnie were waiting.

"How did it go?" Cemre asked as we left the parlor.

"Horrible". I sighed.

"I told you".

"But", I straightened myself out and grinned. "That just means I have to try harder next time".

"Your joking, right?" Both Cemre and Onnie deadpanned.
