The others

I woke up this time alone. I sit up, stretch my arms and look around. I see Danny sitting by the bar, with a glass in his hand.

"Did you have fun last night," Danny notices I'm up. My blood runs cold.

"Where's Addy and Carlos?" I stood up slowly. I'm not scared but try to be careful.

"They went for a walk" he said coldly, pointing to a stool in front of him. I sit down with him looking down at me from behind the bar.

"Are you mad at me," I tilt my head, waiting for an answer.

"No," He shakes his head. He holds me a drink filled with juice instead of alcohol. "I'm glad you and Carlos are becoming friends" He looks me in the eye and takes a sip of his drink. "Do you want to know about the other kids in the lab?" he lifts his eyebrow.

"If you want to tell me, "He smirks. I feel a little nervous and I'm praying that Aunty A will come save me.

"Both me and Carlos came when we were 5, Addy when she was 7 but there are more of us a lot more," He stares at me, "This one girl, she praised the scientist she wanted to become the weapon they were turning us into." Addy walks through the door knowing what she's talking about so she continues.

"Her animal is a snake, they made her be able to hypnotize when you look her in the eyes," she comes to sit next to me and I take a deep breath, "she was at my house, the 2 eyes you saw." My eyes open wide.

"That was her," She chuckles a little at my surprise.

"Her older brother Bruce was the bear, he's just really strong. Nothing special," She continues, "Bruce just follows her lead. She's a big-time brat and never liked us." Danny hands her a drink.

"They were a team who would do anything for those scientists. There's also another girl there whose name is Lilo."

"Chica timida (shy girl) Never talked to anyone not even us" Carlos runs in, in animal form. "She was sick and weak, the Cientificos (scientists) hated her for it." He walks behind the bar with Danny.

"That's not her fault," i looked at all three of them and they looked guilty.

"We had a chance to take her with us, but she was too scared," Danny looks up at me after having his head down.

"We had no choice but to leave her, we don't even know her animal or power" Addy tried not to sound guilty.

"We were split into units they could be more of us but if there is we don't know them" for the first time Carlos didn't mix any Spanish into his sentence. I didn't know what to say or if I should say anything. I slipped from my drink and looked out the window to see blue and red lights flashing. "We have to go," Carlos ran out from behind the counter. I grabbed a bag and ran towards the back entrance where Danny grabbed my hand leading me out the door. All three of them transformed. I hopped onto Dannys back and Addy hops on Carlos's.

"Didn't I shoot you in the foot!" I yell at the bear chasing us.

"You bitch it still hurts!" I laugh at the whining bear. He's slower than before, thanks to me. I look over to Addy who is laughing her ass off. "If it wasn't for my sister, I would kill you!" His words send shivers down my spine.

"If it wasn't for the fact that you're so slow maybe you could catch us!" I made Addy laugh harder.

"Nice one moon pie but it's best not to anger the big mean bear," Addy tries to hold in her laugh. I nod at her and look to where we're going. "Um darlings, where are we going," Both me and Addy have no idea where we're going.

"Don't you want to save Lilo," I hear a girl's voice. Both Carlos and Danny stop. "That's right boys, I know you tried to take her with you and that's why she's being punished." I can hear they're breathing getting harder, "All because of you."

"No," Addy starts to cry, "Lord please no" i hear the girl start to laugh.

"And you're father is great company," my eyes widen with anger, "we'll set them both free, but that girl comes with us"

"No way in hell, Carlos lets go!" Danny starts to run again but I keep my eyes on the girl as anger starts to boil inside me.

2 hours go by, and we stop at a gas station. We're all silent as we walk into the little store. I picked up a bag of chips, chocolate and a soda. Addy unsurprisingly has a sweet tooth and picked up a bunch of candy. Carlos and Danny grab a bunch of chips. I use the money my dad gave me to pay for it all.

We go back to traveling but this time we all walk. "Let's not stay in the grumps mi amigos (My friends" Carlos runs in front of us and turns to face us. "We'll save them, and we will all be happy," I can't help but smile.

"Carlos is right, we should be sad, we should be excited and determined," I joined Carlos. We smile at each other then turn to Danny and Addy. "When this is over, we'll make a new home and be a family.... If you'll have me,'' I look over to Addy.

"Of course, sweet pea," Addy puts my hands in hers and gives me a warm smile you can see for miles. "They're right, you know?" She turns to Danny. Danny looks over to me and walks over to me.

He leans down to my ear and whispers, "When this is over, I'm taking you out." I smile and blush hard.

"Let's go!" We start to walk hand in hand with smiles on all our faces that stretch for Thousands of miles.
