Chapter 11 - Blue and Yellow

September 10th 1976

It was cold today, and being by the coast came with its advantages and disadvateges. Disatvantage- early winters. The wind sent chills down my spine when it blew, but for some reason it wasn't 'I have to where a coat cold' more just like 'I'm going to where long sleeves and pants cold'. I picked out a pair of straight brown jeans and a long sleeved white top and over it a knitted blue vest that my Abuela made for me for my Birthday, along with a pair of black converse.

I'd woken up early for once and had enough time to actually do my hair and some makeup. I grabbed some conditioner spray and water to brush it through with creating more defined curls that were less dry and crazy, I tied my hair into a ponytail then brought it up into a claw clip bun (If ya'll know what I mean) pulling out two front peices. Perfect. Then I did some mascara and conceler,then some blue eye shadow to match the vest and some blush and pink lip tint, with some lipgloss.

I went downstairs and grabbed a bowl and poured some cereal in it. Then I spotted someone outside, and smiled going to the front door and opening it leeaning against the frame with my arms crossed just as he was about to pass, he stopped. "Hey Billy Boy." I said walking over to where he had stopped. "Hey El, woah..." He said suddenly shocked. "What?" I said confused. "Your up...like before 7." He said chuckling, handing me the newspaper. I rolled my eyes smiling "Yeah I know, Shocker" Then Rover barked getting my attention, I put the newspaper on the ground as I bent down to stroke him, "Hey boy! You miss me" I said as Rover then excitedly jumped on me, knocking me onto the ground, I started giggling. "The world seriously must be ending because your in a good mood, AND up early." Billy said smiling at me and Rover.

"Rare thing your witnessing right now." I said laughing getting up and grabbing the newspaper once more, "He loves you, literally anytime he hears your name he starts going crazy." Billy said laughing. I laughed too, "Nice bike" I said to him pointing out his brand new red bike, an upgrade from his old blue one. This one had a basket too, currently holding a bunch of newspapers. "Thanks" He said, "My Mom and Dad got me a new one, the old one was getting rusty, and small if I'm being honest." He said shrugging. Damn right it was too small, it was like everyoen had a glowup over the summer, nearly the girls got skinnier and prettier, and most of the boys got more muscular, broader and taller. 9th grade is literally working wonders on everyone. And Billy was definetly the part of our school population that grew 3 feet over summer.

I smiled at him. "Well I best get going, I gotta deliver another round before school starts." he said smilign at me. "See ya El, I'll be telling everyone about the eyeboggling thing I have witnessted today." he said laughing. "See you around Billy Boy." I said waving, rover barked goodbye and I blew a kiss to him laughing. Going back inside. If Ziggy and Billy get married I approve with no questions, its just that neither have the guts to tell one another they have liked eachother since the 1st fucking grade. So tragic, I dont know how either of them hasnt noticed they literally stare at ecahother all the time. And Billy is the sweetest soul to ever live. Teenagers...

"-and omg did you see how Mr evans was checking out Ms Lola, like arent they both married with kids or something?" Ziggy said. "Yeah they both have like whole ass familys" I said and whilst we all giggled, walking out of the doors and down the steps, away from school. "Ugh thatnk goodness we  are out of school, I don't think I could stand another second listening to our science teacher talk- Blah, blah blah" Donna said mimicking our teachers voice. "Personally I couldn't stand the fact we had to look at you and finney eye-fucking eachother from across the room the whole hour, but that could just be me" I said holding my hands up, as Donna turned a bright tamato Red and Ziggy cackled. I felt an arm wrap around my shoulder, and looked down to see gwen hanging off me and ziggys shoulders. "Hey guys, whats up." She said smiling. Now I know I said that the Middle school and Highschool werent attached, but obviously they werent far, considering the size of our town which was big considering it was a seasidetown, compared to others, but the middle school was only a few roads down, and Gwen came to the highschool to walk back home with Finney everyday. As did most kids, with siblings at different schools.
