CHAPTER 5

Home Is When I'm With You

     I PARKED my car on the side of a familiar car and took my seatbelt off before going outside my car, pulling my luggage with me. May mga gamit pa ako sa condo na hindi nadala na babalikan ko na lang bukas.

"Wow," I uttered in amusement while looking at the small two-story modern house. The walls are painted white and gray. I rang the doorbell before I opened the gate. A garage on the left side welcomed me. I saw a small fish pond on the other side and a garden. Oh, dear Lord.

What we talked about two days ago knocked some sense to me. I decided to acknowledge him as my husband since he showed a proof of us being legally married. Wala na rin naman akong magagawa dahil may kontrata siyang nilabas. I'm trapped in this loveless marriage and tied to him forever.

But it doesn't mean I'm going to let my guards down. I will still make sure we will have a term and conditions about us living together. We're not a normal married couple anyway.

I took a breath and walked towards the door, ringing the doorbell. The door opened, and a towering man wearing plain black sando and gray sweatpants welcomed me. It was Reeve.

He was shocked when he saw me in front of him. Of course, I didn't tell him I was going to move to his house today. Uh-huh!

"Wife... You're here," he uttered, still in stupefaction, as he quickly helped me with my luggage. "Come in."

My eyebrows slightly creased when I noticed visible inks on his arms. Is that a tattoo? "T-Thank you— Oh, Gosh!" I jumped a little when I heard a bark the moment I entered the house.

I looked at the white puppy who was on the floor, looking at me. Probably, curious who I am. It was a samoyed, slightly similar with chowchow. I bit my lips and bent down to give it a pat on the head.

"You're so cute," I mumbled.

"Do you want to carry her?" I turned my head when I felt Reeve's presence behind my back.

"Can I? What's her name?" I asked, trying not to look at the veins on his arms. 

"His name is Beau," pagkarinig pa lang ni Beau sa pangalan niya ay mabilis na siyang naglakad papalapit sa amo niya. My lips parted in amusement.

Oh, he's a he!

Reeve carried Beau in his arms while the other one had my luggage. His veins look like it's perfectly made for my syringe. Kelsea, get a grip! I bit my lips and stood straight, bringing back my poise.

"Let me help you with my things," I uttered, but he swerved, causing me to gape.

"You don't have to..." He paused. "Just follow me, and I'll show you our bedroom," sabi niya at nauna nang maglakad.

Nagloading pa saglit ang utak ko sa sinabi niya. We're going to sleep in one bedroom?! Hell, no!

I roamed my eyes around the house while still following him. It looked empty even though there was already a living room set and two pieces of furniture on the wall. May tatlong kwarto sa taas at dalawa sa baba. The house looks spacious. Not bad.

When we entered the master's bedroom ay namangha kaagad ako. The room is spacious and clean. There's a king-size bed with clean and obviously brand-new bedsheets, two king and two standard pillows, a light gray sofa in front of the bed, and mini chandelier lights. Mula sa kinatatayuan ko, kitang-kita ko ang veranda. This room is nice kahit halata naman na maraming gamit pa rin ang kailangan bilhin.
