Areno's Charity Ball
A transparent barrier formed between us since I learned the reason behind our marriage.
Areno's charity ball is only two days away, and I still haven't told him about Mommy's invitation. I don't know if I should inform him about it or if I'll just attend the charity ball alone.
These past few days, I've realized a lot of things about our situation.
My parents always tell me a great marriage is not when the perfect couple comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to love their differences.
And now that I am married, I want to use the values of my parents in our own situation. Tears, pain and financial woes, I won't give up on our marriage because a good marriage allows for change and growth in the individuals.
After thirty six hours of duty in the hospital, I get to sleep.
Tomorrow night will be the charity ball for the Areno, and I haven't told him about it because I slept all day. I sigh and massage my temples.
If I'll text him right now, we can still find something to wear for tomorrow's event.
Lowering my pride will not make me less than a person.
I sighed before I took my phone out and decided to text him. I was chewing my bottom lip while typing a message for him.
Me:
Mom found out that someone was courting me, and she invited you to the charity ball tomorrow. Makakapunta ka ba or no?
"Shit," I cussed at mabilis ulit akong nagtipa ng kasunod na message dahil pakiramdam ko ang demanding ko sa last sentence.
Me:
Ayos lang naman kung ayaw mo.
I thought he wouldn't reply right away, but I received his reply within twenty seconds after I clicked the send button for the second message.
Reeve:
All right. I'll go home early today so we can look for our outfits.
Me:
Okay. See you at home.
"Oh my God! I shouldn't have said the last sentence," nagsisising sabi ko nang mabasa ang message na naisend ko sa kanya.
Reeve:
Okay, wife.
Have you eaten? How was your sleep? I bit my bottom lip as I felt my cheeks slightly burn while typing a reply.
Me:
Kakain pa lang.
Later kana mag text. Just focus on your work.Reeve:
