The next day, Charlotte woke up and saw that she was in the bed alone and that the head of the bed was almost all the way down. She sighed figuring that Johnny had apparently went home after she fell asleep. She was hoping he would be there when she woke up, but as she raised the bed to an up right position, she noticed that he was asleep on the couch which made her smile as a nurse walked in.

"Good morning darling, how's your head?" She spoke softly.

"Much better than yesterday that's for sure." She smiled over at her, "Do I get to go home today?"

"You sure do." The nurse nodded, "First things first though, I get to unhook you from these machines since your vitals are in the normal range."

"Thank God." She giggled lightly as the nurse went to work unhooking everything from her.

"It'll be a little bit longer though. The doctor wants to come in here and look at your stitches first."

With that Charlotte ran her fingers over the bandages, "So where on my head is the stitches exactly?"

The bandage was wrapped all around her head, and the day before, she was bleeding so much that she wasn't sure exactly where she had a gash.

"Here on the side of your head." She motioned to the area, "Which unfortunately we had to shave part of your hair to be able to stitch it up." She said as she carefully took the bandages off. "Have a look." She then hands her a small mirror.

Johnny woke up to hearing voices and saw that a nurse was standing by Charlotte, so instead of saying anything or sitting there, he laid there watching them interact with each other.

Charlotte took the mirror and looked at her reflection, the whole side of her head was shaved, but the gash started at her ear and stopped at the start of the back of her head right before it curved around.

"Damn, that sucks." She frowned as she stared at her reflection, "Well you know what? I'm sure with a little fixing of the hair, I can hide it." She smiled a little as she handed the mirror to the nurse.

It's only hair, it'll grow back is what she kept repeating to herself.

"That's a good way to look at it." The nurse smiled as she took the mirror back, "Usually when having to shave someone's head, even if it's just part of it, they always try to make it as neat as possible so that it doesn't look like a blindfolded person did it."

"Well that's good." She giggled, she was thankful that they didn't butcher her hair too bad though.

"If anything you could always shave the other side to make it match." Johnny suggested as he sat up on the couch, which caused Charlotte to look over at him.

"Oh well good morning to you. Didn't realize you were awake."

"Yeah, have been for a few minutes, I just didn't want to interrupt at first." He shrugged, "So I kept quiet."

Just then, they heard the door opening so when they looked over, they saw Danielle and Jimmy walking into the room.

"Oh sorry didn't know you had a nurse in here, we can step back out." Danielle smiled slightly.

"No, it's okay, you're free to stay. I was done and getting ready to step out." The nurse smiled then looked back at Charlotte, "The doctor will be in shortly and when he gives me the all clear, I'll start preparing your release papers."

"Okay thank you." Charlotte nodded and watched the nurse walk towards the door then looked at Danielle, "What do you have there?" She motioned to the small bag that she had in her hands.
