For The Best

It's been a week since that New Years night that the club was shot up by that woman and Jake being the one behind it all. Apparently he only had it done because he was running out of money and thought it was a good way to collect some quick insurance money but of course it wasn't since the woman confessed everything.

And because of everything, the city shut down the club, the head manager, Devon thought it was for the best because he wouldn't want to run it by himself even if he was given a choice to take over ownership.

But unfortunately that meant the girls were out of a job, which sucked. Charlotte didn't know what she wanted to do for a new career yet but she knew she didn't want to go back to doing that kind of dancing where as Danielle knew she wanted to, she loved doing that stuff so she figured she might find another place around Huntington.

Charlotte figured she might just do what her mom had mentioned and see about looking into landscaping because she did always think it was amazing. Maybe her parents will let her start with their yard because it did need some updating.

A couple days after New Year's day, Johnny decided he was going to get proof that Lacey was actually cheating on him by hiring a private detective. And that's when he found out what he had suspected and what others had suspected was actually true.

On the way home from meeting with the private detective, he stopped and got some boxes to start packing up Lacey's stuff once he got home. He wasn't surprised that she wasn't home when he got there so he started going to work packing her things as he began drinking. He wasn't even caring about her belongings as he threw them into boxes. By the time he had a few boxes of hers by the door, she finally came home and instantly noticed them sitting there.

Lacey furrowed her eyebrows as she looked at them, "Jonathan? What's going on? What's with this stuff?"

Johnny walked down the stairs with another box in his hands and smirked, "Well that's your stuff." He shrugged, "Some of it anyways, the rest is still upstairs, I haven't gotten to it yet." He set the box down with the rest, "I'm tired of the lies I've been getting from you, saying you're working." Which when he said the word working, he did air quotes, "When-"

"What the hell are you talking about? I have been working Jonathan." Lacey rolled her eyes, "Excuse me for taking extra hours, keeping myself busy because you're never around."

"That's bullshit! There you go lying again because you weren't always working at that damn job and I have proof you weren't. Hell the only thing you've been working at is fucking around with God knows who behind my damn back and I'm done. I'm done being screwed over. I'm done being used by you Lacey! Whatever we had left ends right now because we're over." He groaned as he motioned between the two of them. "So I want you to get your stuff." He pointed to the boxes, "And get out of my house." He then pointed to the door.

"Mm fine but just so you know I wouldn't have had to seek attention from someone else if you weren't so busy with the damn band." She pushed her lips out some as she nodded, "But whatever, if that's what you truly want." She took a deep breath and let it out.

"It's not necessarily what I want but it's what's best." He sighed as he sat on the couch then ran his hands down his face before cupping them around his mouth before removing them and looking at her. "What's the point of this relationship, if you're seeing someone else."

What hurt him the most is the fact that she didn't even try to fight for him to give her another chance like he thought she would. And he knew right then and there that her heart wasn't in this relationship like his was. As she began grabbing her things and taking them to her car, he just sat there with his elbows on his knees while rubbing his head up and down in his hands not bothering to help her because he was too hurt and pissed to do so.
