Chapter 6: Stars

Lumine pays a visit to Xiao. She arrives at Wangshu Inn, she brought some almond tofu. She stands on the balcony, the wind slowly drifting trough her hair. "Xiao." He appears, they greet.

"So.. how have you been?"

"Bad." She tells him.

"Why's that..? Is there someone bothering you?"

"Yeah.. my brother."

When Xiao heard that, he was surprised.

"You've found your brother..?"

"Yeah, but it didn't go as expected. He hurt me, I think he doesn't even care for me."

I'm sure he does, ehh.. where did you find him?"

"The abyss."

Xiao did not like hearing that.

"What is a mortal doing there!?"

"I don't know, I couldn't get out."

"But.."

"Childe, he saved me."

"You could've called my name Lumine."

"I had tried, think it didn't work."

"I'm sorry."

"No no, it's okay!"

"So that Childe.. he seems pretty interested in you."

"He does?"

Xiao tells Lumine how Childe came here over and over again trying to find you and look for clues. Hearing that Lumine felt even more embarrassed. "He doesn't seem like a bad guy." Xiao says, and he seems to even smile a bit. "I can't, you know that. I came here to find my brother." "He's waiting for you Lumine, he always was."

Childeee!! Can you get Paimon some pepper!??" Paimon shouts. "Coming right up!" He shouts back. Lumine had just entered her and Paimons appartement.

"Paimon!! Im home!" She laid her keys on the table and walks into the kitchen. She sees Childe, not what she expected. "Oh, hey." She smiles softly. "Hello Lumine." He smiles. They remain silent for a bit until they hear a scream.

"CHILDEE!!" He runs towards Paimon bringing the pepper, Paimon has her arms crossed. Lumine walks in. "What ya making?" She asks them. "A new recipe me and Paimon made." They both smile. "You guys get well along." She says walking away.

Childe gets the table ready while Paimon does some finishing touches. "Someone's in a good mood~." Lumine says walking in.
"I'm just happy today." Childe says. "Ohh, and why's that?" "Because I've seen you."

Lumine did NOT expect that and she blushes slightly and talks over it. "I know, I always get happy when I see myself." She says sarcastically. She walks towards the kitchen when a voice says: "Can I take you for a walk tonight?" Childe asks. "Sure." Lumine says.

It's evening and Lumine waits outside her apartment waiting for Childe. He runs over to her breathing heavyliy.

"I'm sorry I kept you waiting." "It's okay" they start to walk out of Liyue harbor, into the mountains. They chat with each other. "Ur not that of a bad guy after all." Lumine says. Childe scoffs. "What made you think that."

"I don't know.. maybe you tried to attack Liyue.. and take the gnosis.." she says. He laughs. "I know you've been waiting for me Childe." Childe is shocked. "But my answer is no, I have to find my brother."

"But.. if you find him you will leave." He says disappointed. "Exactly." They walk further for a while in silent.

They walk on their way back. "You have eye bags under you're eyes." Lumine says. "When did you last sleep?" Childe sighs. "I don't know? Yesterday?" Lumine looks at him with a mad face. "Fineee. Maybe.. I don't know. However, it was long ago." Lumine wonders how he could last this long without sleep. They get back and get to sleep.

"Xiao." Lumine says standing in the woods. A green-black shadow appears.

"You called?" He crosses his arms. "I told him no." Lumine says, embarrassed. Xiao sighs. "Why?"

"I have to find my brother!" "He doesn't want to go with you Lumine!" Xiao shouts. Lumine never saw Xiao this mad. Lumine starts to tear up. Xiao is shocked that he shouted, he walks towards her and hugs her.

"I'm sorry." "No, it's the truth.." Xiao pull back and places his hand on her shoulder. "He doesn't want you following him around. So you have to ignore that fact, and start a life here. Later on he will notice and start to regret. Teach him a lesson Lumine." Lumine started to smile under her tears. She wipes them away. "Thank you Xiao." She hugs him tightly.

"But what do I do now?" Lumine asks. "Give him a chance." Lumine looks away. "But what if I don't like him..?" Xiao is shocked to hear that. "Y-you don't?" He says with open eyes. "I don't know.." Lumine says. "You shouldn't let him wait for too long." Lumine comes up with an idea. "Xiao.. can you help me with something?"

"Anything."
