Chapter 7: The test

Childe wakes up first. As he looks around he sees Lumine.. and a green person is holding her? He stares at them.

"No.." he whispers. He stands up and rushes away. He runs into Liyue harbor searching for Zhongli. He rushes into Zhonglis house and he sits there shocked with tea in his hand. "

Mr. Tartaglia? I didn't know we had a appointment today?" Zhongli says putting his tea on the table.

"W-we don't I just want to talk." Zhongli looks concerned. "Alright.. sit down. I'll get you some tea." Zhongli comes back with the tea, Childe explains everything to what happened to Zhongli.

"And now she.. is with Xiao, I think." Zhongli takes a sip of his tea. And he starts to laugh. Childe stares at Zhongli with a weird look. "I can't believe you fell for that." "Fell.. for what?" He puts down his tea. "This is clearly a test, Xiao is like a son to me, him and the traveler are good friends, but would never start a relationship."

"So?"

"So they want to test if u move on." Childe understand. "So she wants to play it like that.. thanks mr. Zhongli!" Childe rushes away.

Xiao and Lumine walk in Liyue harbor. "I still don't understand why you wanted to do this?" Xiao says.

"I want to test if he really loves me.. if he moves on if I'm with another." Xiao looks away. "Right."

They all stand in shock when they see Childe, with another girl. Xiao takes Lumines hand and could feel her expression without looking at her.

"Do you.. want to go?" Lumine stutters. "N-no.. it's okay." They walk hand in hand past Childe and the other girl. Childe looks mad at Lumine.

Childe takes the girl to a restaurant, the same restaurant Xiao and Lumine go to. Childe does the seat for the girl. Lumine saw that and Childe looks at Lumine. Lumine grabs a tissue and wipes the corner of Xiao's mouth. Childe saw that and Lumine looks at Childe.

They keep going on like that. Until they're tired, they head back to the appartement. They live in the same building, across from each other. They stand in the elevator next to each other, not saying a word. They both open the door of their home's and keep standing there for a while.

"Who's ur new girl." Lumine asks. "Somebody." He says. "Together with ur with ur little slave now?" Lumine turns around and wants to shout. "He's not-!" But then she sees his face. He's really tired.

"I know ur little plan Lumine, but im tired." He walks into his appartement and closes the door, leaving Lumine there.

Lumine heads back in her appartement too, tears roll down her cheek with a cold expression. "I'm sorry.." she says falling on the floor crying. Then she hears a knock on the door. She quickly wipes away her tears, her mascara all wiped out. When she opens the door the immediately gets hugged by Childe. He closes the door behind him and hugs her tightly. They look at each other. "I would never stop waiting for you. Even when Teyvat gets struck down." Lumine smiles. She thinks about some things and then a reaction pops in. She kisses Childe.

Lumine wakes up laying next to Childe. She yawns. "Good morning gorgeous." Childe says. Lumine is shocked about this. She starts to overthink. What about Aether? Will Xiao be mad? I cant do this.

Then she gets pulled into a kiss. She pulls away and sits up straight. "What time is it!?" She rushes to her phone. "Shit!" She starts putting on her clothing. "Don't look!" She shouts at Childe. He pulls the blanket over him. She doesn't know the blanket is see-trough. She pulls the blanket away. His face is all red.

"You asshole!" She packs her bag quickly. "Make sure to leave." She says seriously, he's still stunned. "Bye!!!" She shouts. Lumine grabs her heels and puts them on walking in the hall. She walks past that girl.

Lumine's gone. Childe walks out of her appartement, not knowing his 'girlfriend' is here. They lock eyes. She throws all her stuff on him and walking away mad. "Now my clothes are dirty!" He shouts, walking in his appartement. "I have no regrets!" He shouts before closing the door.

Lumine has finished her commissions, while she was walking back, she met the 'girlfriend' of Childe. "How dare you! You slut!" She screams! Lumine is shocked. "Excuse me?" She laughs. "You took my man!" She shouts. "Pffft- okay?" Lumine scoffs. "You will regret saying that." With that, the ground started shaking and the girl started floating. "Melody the name is." The girl said. Lumine's sword appeared ready to attack Melody.

Rocks get flung out of the ground being send at Lumine. Paimon rushes back to Liyue to warn Childe. One of the rocks hit Lumine, getting her send into a mountain. "Xiao..? Right?" Melody says. Lumine's eyes widened. "How would he like to hear all this?" Melody said smirking. "It was all an plan..!" Lumine groans.

"Oh really..? He seemed to be kinda In love with you." Melody says. Lumine laughs. "That's the funniest thing I've ever heard!" Lumine says laughing. "Argh.. it hurts when I laugh." Melody created a huge rock.

"Say goodbye." She set the rock on fire, sending it to Lumine. Before the rock could hit her, something stopped it. It was Childe. "Run Lumine!" He said. Paimon helps her get away. Melody set more force on the rock. "Ajax!" Lumine shouted. Immediately putting her hand on her mouth. He was shocked and the rock hit him and he flung in the mountain.

"No!" Lumine shouted. Lumine jumped on the rocks getting to Melody. She swung her sword and ended her.
