"Just hear me out," Natasha pleaded.

"I said no," Fury said, for the hundredth time. "It's too unpredictable."

Natasha had made a breakthrough. It was very simple. The past agents had been too hostile with the young girl. She closed off because she felt threatened, with or without her powers. But once she and Clint warmed up to the girl, and treated her with respect, she grew calmer and more peaceful. She communicated with them.

"But just think of what else we could learn about her," Clint begged. "She might finally trust us!"

They wanted Nakia to get out of "S.H.E.I.L.D, into the real world. She lacked social skills. Maybe the girl could learn something and finally trust them to tell them more about where she came from.

"Where would she even stay," Fury pressed on. "Who would be qualified to handle her? What if someone comes looking for her?"

Nick was worried about everyone's safety. If they sent the girl home with an unprepared agent she'd cause nothing but chaos wreaking havoc over everything. Which means people would come looking for her. It'd put everyone in danger.

"Phil," Clint commented. Natasha shook her head. "His apartment is too small."

"How about you Barton," Fury tilted his head.

He winced. "Not sure how Laura would feel about that, sir. Nat?"

"Too obvious," Nat grimaced. "I'd be the first place enemies would look."

Fury sighed. "It'd be too public if I took her home." He crossed his arms as he narrowed his eye. "So which poor soul do you want to stick this assignment on."

Natasha smirked as she looked at a confused Barton.

"Get Pierce down here," she said. "I have an idea. There's no way he could say no."

"No."

"What," Nat grumbled.

"Hell no," Thomas said calmly.

Thomas Overton was the best possible choice. He was a level Seven agent, he was prepared for anything and he was quick on his feet. He gave them the idea to get Nakia to talk to them. Plus he was a low-risk choice. He was extremely experienced in this area. Overton would be the last agent anyone would think to send someone home with. And he could handle himself if his cover was made.

If he wasn't so stubborn then it would be a much easier situation. Natasha, Clint, Phil, Thomas, Fury, and Pierce were all in Nick's office which he didn't approve of.

"Why can't you do it," Overton said. "If this is so important, why am I being recruited?"

Clint put his head in his hands. "You know why," Natasha told him. "It'd just be for a couple of months."

Thomas sighed as Phil stood up. "Tip, you have way more experience with children than the rest of us. You ha-." Thomas put a hand up. "Stop."

"I think that this is good," Pierce spoke up, stroking his chin. "I say we do this."

Thomas raised an eyebrow. "Why the hell do you need to be here?" Fury massaged his forehead.

"Because," Piece said standing up. "You need my approval before you do anything with that girl. But this is now an order. Take her home with you. Give her a nice room."

Overton rolled his eyes, as he looked at Nat. "You sure that'll work?" Natasha nodded.

"Fine."

Pierce clapped his hands together while Fury sighed.

Nakia was fiddling with her umbrella crest on the sweater she was using as a blanket. She hadn't been home in almost a week if she even had the time right. Nakia sniffed. She wondered if Klaus was worried. He was the last sibling that still loved her. Now she was gone, and she had left him there.

She looked around. Klaus would definitely spruce up the place. She chuckled at the thought. He'd bully those agents until they cried, making them rethink their life choices.

The door opened and Clint came in. Nakia slightly smiled. Clint smirked.

"Hey kid," he greeted. "I got some good news." Nakia slowly stood up. Her dumb knees wobbled, due to her lack of mobility. Clint raised an eyebrow. "Are you-" she nodded quickly, as Clint motioned for her to sit on the chair.

"We're going to get you out of here," he said softly. Nakia raised her eyebrows. "Really? They're going to let me out."

"Not by yourself." She slumped her shoulders. She should have been expecting that. "Hey," she looked up.

"It's okay. We're going to send you home with one of our agents."

Nakia raised a brow. "Not you, right? Clint chuckled. "No, not me."

The door opened and a tall man walked in. Nakia turned her attention back to Clint. "Nakia, this is Thomas Overton. You're going to be staying with him for a while."

"How do you do?" he held out his hand. She held out her hand and shook it. "Well you know I've been stuck in here for a week, but other than that, I'm great." Thomas pursed his lips. Nakia grinned at him, before slinking back in her seat.

"Well," Clint declared, standing up. "I think we should go. Nakia, we'll be back tomorrow okay?" Nakia nodded, slowly. Thomas shoved his hands in his pockets before leaving with Clint.

Nakia walked back to her corner, a wide grin on her face. She was finally going to get her new start.

Pierce frantically grabbed his phone out of his pocket, fumbling as he dialed a number.

"Ты идиот," a Russian female voice spat out. "I told you not to contact me."

"The girl," he shot back. "Nakia, t-there moving her."

"где," Ingrid replied.

"агент овертон," he said. The woman smirked. "Interesting."

"I have men ready," Alexander replied, running his fingers through his hair. "We could - uh - take care of her."

"No, your men are incompetent. I am sending a recruit of my own."

Pierce scowled.

"Remember Pierce, I'm watching. I want that girl alive. Follow my orders."
