Nakia was beginning to grow restless. When Nakia was restless, she lost control and her powers began to show. As much as she loved hanging out with Thomas, Natasha, Clint, Phil and sometimes Charlie, it was growing rather boring.

She was losing the control she gained, growing upset at little things, jokes that used to make her happy made her extremely angry and she'd lash out. Her emotions were running wild. One second she was laughing and happy, the next second she was depressed and hated everything.

Her powers had been showing through. Sparks were being ignited at S.H.I.E.L.D. During one of her experiments, she almost sucked a scientist into a black hole.

Things were happening at home too. Charlie had almost been set on fire when he took the last slice of pizza one night.

It was scaring Thomas. Nights that used to be peaceful and quiet were turned into nightmares and screams. She had woken him up multiple times with piercing screams and pleas for help.

This was concerning, but Thomas really didn't want to say anything. If he told Pierce or anyone at work, they might take Nakia from him and put her in a cage for the rest of her life.

And if Nakia was this agitated with six people in her life, he couldn't imagine what she would do if she were completely isolated.

To be honest, he really didn't want to find out.

She had really fucked up now. She had another nightmare the night before. She was in a dark room and was all alone. Everyone left, no one was paying attention to her crying.

The next thing she knew, someone was shaking her awake. She screamed out and opened her eyes to see a worried Thomas shaking her.

"What the hell," he muttered. "How did you-"

Nakia looked away to see all the furniture in the room floating several feet off the floor. She peered to the bottom to see even her bed was floating. Her heart began to beat at a million miles per hour.

"How do I get down," she cried. She was beginning to hyperventilate.

"How am I supposed to know," Thomas yelled. "Stop with the magic!"

"I don't know how,"

Thomas picked the small girl up from the floating bed and cradled her in his arms. "Just relax," he soothed. "You're alright."

After a couple of moments, she finally calmed down. The furniture dropped, creating a large boom.

Nakia immediately pushed herself from Thomas's grasp, falling to the ground with a soft thud. She curled herself into a ball and began to rock back and forth.

Thomas didn't want to leave her alone. Not like this. He leaned down and sat next to her. She didn't seem to notice but eventually, she stopped rocking.

He didn't know how long they had sat there in silence, but eventually, she went back to sleep. He scooped her up and put her back in her bed. He looked over at her alarm clock.

7:26 AM

He sighed, before leaving the room. He walked back into his room and picked up his phone. He rubbed his eyes, as he dialed a number.

"Hey," he said into the phone. "Yeah, I know it's early. I was just wondering if that offer was still on the table."
