Of course, I wouldn't help him. Who was in the right mind to help your tormentor, who made your life miserable? Jaeden was just threatening me -- a bland threat. Nothing I couldn't handle. After a few days, he would forget about his delusions.
That was what I thought, though.
When I got to school Thursday morning, I was stuffing my things inside my locker when I stiffened at the voice next to me. "So, have you found the solution?" Jaeden looked right and left, as if talking to me would make him look pathetic.
Shit, he was really serious.
I closed my locker. "How many times I have told you that it's not easy. It's not as simple as making a character on a screen."
"Then make it simple."
Argh! Jaeden would never listen. "Whatever," I said then ran away.
"You can't run away from me. You'll regret this."
The threat made me stop, but I already heard it a couple of times. Jaeden may be violent in words and sometimes bullies me to do some stupid things, and yet he never punches or kicks me.
Maybe this time will be different?
I shivered. I needed to toughen up, I shouldn't let him do whatever he wants. If he beat me or did shit, I would report him this time. No more wimpy Felix.
But on the third subject, at the Chemistry lab, when I was busy answering some questions in my paper, Jaeden passed by where I sat and spilled some liquid inside the flask he was holding.
I stood quickly, that my chair went down, and removed my lab coat. Luckily, the liquid wasn't something that would singe my skin. My clothes were not wet, but my paper was in an unfortunate state. "What the--"
"Oh shit, I'm sorry," Jaeden said with a smirk. Everyone looked at us and giggled. I grabbed my paper, but it was soaked.
"What's happening here?" Mr. Greene, our chem teacher, asked.
"I'm sorry, sir. I was just walking towards my desk and then suddenly I slipped." His voice sounded innocent. It made me feel the heat in my ears. At the corner, Robert and Jake, Jaeden’s friends, snickered.
My fists clenched. "Liar."
"What? No," Jaeden said with innocent eyes. He could really pull off an act if he made an effort. "I'm so sorry, Felix. I didn't mean to."
"Now, now," Mr. Greene said. "Be careful next time, Mr. Savon. And Mr. Fennigan, go wash in the bathroom. You can give me the paper after school so don't worry about it." Then Mr. Greene smiled at us before he walked back in front. "Okay, class, let's continue."
Jaeden gave me another smirk, and then he went back to his chair.
At lunch, as Lawrence and I ate while I also rewrote my paper for Chemistry, Jaeden and his friends passed us and then laughed at me.
I ignored them and focused on rewriting my paper.
"You two aren't tired of seeing each other, are you?" Robert said.
Jaeden shook his shoulder. "Hey, stop, they're dating."
"Oh, fag dating?" Jake added.
They laughed again."Do you have any other words to spit? We're getting tired of listening," Lawrence countered.
The three made an "ohh" chorus and snickered before walking to their table.
"What happened? Why are they so aggressive to us all of a sudden?" Lawrence asked after he glared at Jaeden and his friends.
"They just have a reason to annoy me again." Then took a sip of my orange juice.
