ashton wasn't able to attend this little spring break celebration, because he was currently in the middle of queensland, his mother was a big traveler over breaks. nobody else wanted to travel outside their little town in sydney. the rest of them got on the bus, happy as ever. luke sat in ashton's spot, leaning on the window. erin next to him. sydney was next to calum, who had his arms fully around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder.

"you two are disgustingly cute." lily pointed at calum, who was smiling like an idiot. "uh-huh? and what about you two?" luke turned red in embarassment, erin turned her head to the side, confused. "oh come on, we all saw the way luke was holding you the other day." lily raised her hand, butting into the conversation, "i did not, i was fake sleeping for the last of it, what happened?"

if looks could kill, sydney would've been dead. erin was staring at her like she was about to kill her whole family. and sydney couldn't have cared. "well, we all had to fit into cal's small ass car, so erin sat on luke, and they were all flirty and laughing and everything," sydney teased, putting emphasis on some words.

erin groaned and hid her face in her hands. "are you kidding?! oh my god and you didn't tell me!" lily yelled in pure disbelief, "okay well," erin wanted eyes off her, "what about you? you are next to michael any chance you get!" lily gave her a look. "touche." luke admired a lot about erin, but something he loved was how her accent would become prominent whenever she raised her voice. he just couldn't pinpoint why he admired that.

the bus pulled to lily's stop, she stood up and michael held onto her hand, seeming to be fake pouting. "we are literally hanging out in less than an hour, you do not need to act sad cause im getting off the bus." michael continued the fake pout. "i hate you, come on." he smiled grabbing his stuff, "whoever wants to join, be my guest. we're all hanging together later." erin, sydney, and cal all stood up.

luke remained seated. "lu, you coming?" erin asked, he shook his head. "i'll be over soon, have to help my mom with something before i head over." she nodded, following the rest.

erin was a bit on edge when he said that, it wasn't like she didn't trust luke. just that she's been in this scenario before, with ashton. and she didn't want to be hurt by more than one of her friends in the course of four months. especially luke.

unlocking the door, lily threw her bag on the floor, everybody kind of piled their stuff on top of hers. opening the door to the basement, they all followed her down. then they just sat in a comfortable silence. there wasn't a lot to talk about. no drama with people, they already covered the topic of love lives on the bus, so they just sat scrolling through netflix horror flicks.

hearing luke walk in, lily volunteered to go upstairs and make popcorn so he could help carry it down, sydney threw a pillow at michael, catching his attention.

michael furrowed his brows, "what?" he asked, turning his head to the side. "did you two talk?" she was eager for a response. erin turned to hear his answer. "yea, for a bit." his answer was short, but it's all sydney needed. "good, im proud of you for doing that, clifford." michael smiled as she spoke, going back to whatever he was doing on his phone.

the two came down the stairs again, luke tripped almost spilling the bowl of popcorn he was carrying. lily stopped, having to turn the other way and laugh. "oh my god are you okay?" she asked in-between laughter, walking down and helping him up.

luke nodded, red from embarrassment. "perfectly fine, yup." he spoke, quickly walking over to the couch where erin was stifling her laughter, as was everybody else. they had settled on a movie while the duo were upstairs, they chose unfriended. the girls had never watched it, but it was one of the boy's favorite thriller flicks, so they were willing to watch it.

lily was holding michael's hand as tight as she could while she watched one of the characters, val, sit in silence on the video call with a gallon of bleach in front of her. sydney was invested but was still ready to duck her head down when something happened. erin begged for someone to pause it, as she was very queasy to blood, but nobody did.

so when kenny got his hand and neck blendered, her head dropped to luke's shoulder. he looked over and went to panic when lily tapped luke, "happens a lot, she hates blood. she'll be up in a minute or so." and luke nodded, but still kept his arm around erin so she wouldn't be uncomfortable when she woke.

once the movie ended, everybody was either in silence or saying how amazingly gross the movie was. lily felt sick, erin was on the verge of passing out again, and sydney was asleep. apparently she can sleep through absolutely everything.

lily was leaning against michael, who was a bit worried for her feeling sick, but knew it was just because of the movie. he kissed the top of her head, feeling her fall asleep against him.
