Reborn as Vampire of the Blue Moon [OC x Vanitas]

1. A unfamiliar World?

A/N: I made the fastest speed run through my story than ever before. All chapters are done, new stuff is in there and the most important thing that almost every Vanitas no Carte character has: A depressing backstory. Enjoy~

P.S. Since I was hurrying, I only re-worked the most important pictures. And I'm also working on an epilogue chapter, which will come later.

~??? POV~

When my senses came back, I heard loud voices. What had happened? When I opened my eyes, I was no longer in my room! I was lying on the floor in a foreign hallway. But at the end I saw light. Was I dead? No, that could not be. In a rush I got up and ran in the direction of the light. At the end of the hallway was a large hall with people everywhere. To my astonishment, they wore no clothes as I knew them, no. Instead, the women all wore dresses from times past and the men all wore suits. ,,What is going on here?" I asked myself, confused. I tried to move as discreetly as I could through the crowd, which I did well at first, but unfortunately I ran into someone and fell down. ,,E-excuse me," I said quickly. ,,Don't worry, nothing happened," the person answered me and when I looked up, I saw two violet eyes. 

,,Are you lost?" the man asked me. Shyly I nodded. ,,I don't even know where I am," I answered honestly. ,,Come, maybe someone from the staff can help you," the man said and helped me up. While I was following the man, I suddenly heard a female voice. 

,,I'm so cold.'' 

Suddenly the man ran off and I had trouble keeping up with him. But fortunately for me, I was able to catch up with him and saw how he just catched a woman. ,,Everything okay?" I asked. The man looked at me unsure. My gaze landed on the woman, who looked quite exhausted. I followed the two as the man took the woman to a free table. ,,Wait here,'' he said to me as he left briefly. ,,Are you okay?" I asked the woman, who nodded. ,,Shall we take you to the infirmary?" asked the man, who came back with two cups. ,,No, I was simply feeling anemic. There is no cause for concern.'' replied the Woman. ,,But you look quite pale.'' the man said and leaned closer to the woman, who blushed. Somehow I felt a little bit out of place.

,,I'm going to see a doctor after this. That is the only one I will allow to examine me. But thank you for your concern.'' the woman explained nervously. Suddenly I heard a clatter and before I knew it, a kitten was sitting on the woman's lap. ,,Bad Murr!" said the man, startled. ,,He's so warm.'' the woman adored the cat and snuggled up to it. ,,Um, my name is Amelia. Might I have an introduction?'' ,,Sure! He is Murr. Please call him by that name.'' said the Man and I giggled. ,,No, not his name...'' 

,,Attention all passengers. La Baleine will be arriving in Paris shortly. Please enjoy the rest of your voyage through the sky.'' 

The man whose name we did not yet know suddenly ran to the large windows. ,,Where is Paris, Mademoiselle Amelia?" the man asked excited. ,,I don't think we can see it yet.'' ,,Oh I see. How unfortunate.'' the man now sulked. ,,...But to think that such massive weight could be made to fly... The power of astermite is truly awe inspiring.'' Astermite? I have never heard of such a thing. But who knows where I have ended up here, that there is something like that. ,,Is this your first time on an airship?'' asked Miss Amelia. ,,Yes.'' ,,Will you see the sights of Paris?'' ,,No, there's is something I seek. The Book of Vanitas.''  the man explained. Miss Amelia, who was standing next to me, let go of Murr in shock. ,,It's the Name of the accursed grimoire from the folktale, ''The Vampire of the Blue Moon.'' You've not heard of it?'' the man asked.
