~Narrator POV~
After the illusion that Charlatan had created had vanished, Athanasia found herself alone in the snowy forest. She immediately looked around for Vanitas and the others, but no one was within her sight. Her eyes widened as she remembered that Vanitas was hurt. ,,Vanitas!" she shouted and ran off. The clouds in the sky became darker and darker and the snowfall heavier. She knew she had to hurry or she would be caught right in the storm. Fortunately, it didn't take her long to find Vanitas, who was sitting under a tree, breathing heavily. ,,Vanitas! Are you all right?" she asked and went to check on him.
,,Athanasia...'' ,,Your wound...'' she began and wanted to check on it. But Vanitas slapped her hand away. ,,Don't touch me. Pay me no mind.'' Athanasia's shoulders twitched. ,,To hell with it! Can't you even accept help? I wouldn't leave you here in a situation like this when a storm is approaching.'' She grabbed Vanitas and supported him so that she could walk with him. Somewhere where they were protected from the storm.
The wind picked up, making it difficult to see anything, but she noticed a ribbon attached to a branch. ,,There must be some kind of shelter here..." she muttered. And she was right. The path, which was fortunately still recognizable, led her and Vanitas to a small cottage. The inside of the cottage still seemed to be in good condition. ,,That's what I call luck. We can stay here until the storm is over,'' she said and sat Vanitas down on the wooden bench inside the cottage. She then took off her backpack and took out one of the fire crystals she had prepared. Together with some wood, she placed it in the fireplace and lit it.
,,Damn it all. This couldn't get any worse. That infernal brat. I will slaughter him next time we meet. Damn him.'' Vanitas cursed. ,,Good. My crystal will keep the fire going for now...'' said the blue-haired girl before standing up and turning to Vanitas. ,,Well then, Vanitas! Disrobe!'' ,,Quoi?!'' ,,Come on, our clothes are soaked from the snow. It would be better to hang them up to dry,'' she said, tugging at Vanitas' clothes. She knew from experience that this would end really badly if they didn't get out of their soaked clothes soon. ,,You're asking me to strip naked? Here?'' the vampire doctor asked nervous. ,,That's right. You don't mind if I help, do you? You're Injured after all.'' ,,No! Wait! I see! You wish to warm me with your bare body next to mine! Ahaha. You're quite forward today!'' laughed Vanitas nervous. With a blank face, Yuki was already starting to take off her clothes. ,,Of course. If it prevents us from freezing to death, it shouldn't be a problem.''
,,Quoi?! Dial it down, Athansia! This isn't like you! Have a little modesty.'' Vanitas yelled embarrassed and tried to cover his eyes with his hands so that he wouldn't see her in her underwear. Annoyed, she grabbed Vanitas by the collar. ,,Listen, it's just as embarrassing for me as it is for you, but there's no other choice. Besides, I don't fancy nearly freezing to death again. So stop complaining and let me help you!'' ,,Yes, ma'am.'' Vanitas said before falling backwards. ,,Huh? Vanitas?!''
