Two weeks later
"Louis wake up."
Louis groans and shift against the pillow, shaking his head no.
"Lou," Harry sighs, sitting down beside him and rubbing his back. "Don't make this a fight today, please. It's Darcy's birthday. We have to go get her up."
"Five more minutes."
"What are you? Seven?"
"Yes actually."
Harry rubs a hand over his face. "Louis come on. I've already made breakfast. You've just got to get up and sing happy birthday to your three-year-old daughter. Is that really so hard?"
"Yes."
"Louis Tomlinson."
"Ugh!" Louis groans dramatically. "Fine!"
He rolls off the bed and trudges into the washroom. Harry waits for him, pulling out his phone. He sees a new notification from Gemma and clicks on it.
Gemma: Tell Darcy happy birthday from me! I can't wait to see her at the party later today!
Harry: I'll make sure to let her know! Thanks Gem
He grins at his phone for a minute, still not used to having his older sister back in his life. He's so happy she's able to come to Darcy's birthday, and that Darcy will be able to grow up with her aunt. They've promised that they're never going to be separated again.
"Harry, I'm ready," Louis says, stepping out of the bathroom, dressed now in a pink jumper and grey joggers.
"Alright, come on," Harry grins. He goes over to kiss Louis, who holds his hips gently until they break apart.
They head downstairs and Harry gives Louis Darcy's sippy cup full of orange juice, and a bowl of strawberries. Then he grabs a plate with a waffle on it and a little fork and knife. They take the food back up and pause at the door to Darcy's room.
"Ready?" Harry asks.
"Sure."
Harry opens the door to see Darcy sleeping soundly in her little bed. The Paw Patrol bedspread is tugged up to her chin and she's surrounded by all of her many stuffed animals. She looks adorable in the glow of her Disney Princess nightlight.
"Happy birthday to you," Harry and Louis sing softly, walking into the room. "Happy birthday to you."
Darcy stirs and blinks up at them with big blue eyes.
"Happy birthday, dear Darcy... Happy birthday to you!" Louis and Harry finish.
"Birfday?" Darcy mumbles.
"Yeah big girl," Harry says. "It's your birthday today."
"Birfday!" Darcy says a little happier, sitting up.
"Do you know how old you are now?" Harry asks.
"Fwee!" Darcy announces, holding up three fingers.
"That's right!" Harry praises. "You're three-years-old now! That's so big and grown up!"
"I big girl, Papa," Darcy tells him seriously.
"Yes, you are," Harry chuckles.
"Papa made you breakfast," Louis says then. "Would you like breakfast in bed?"
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Darcy cheers.
Her parents chuckle and help set up a little tray over her lap, giving her the food. They sit with Darcy and entertain her while she eats. When she's done, Louis takes the dishes downstairs and Harry helps their daughter get dressed in a cute, purple summer dress.
