Thirteen years later
"Relax, Lila," Darcy chuckles, taking her hand.
"I will not relax," Lila protests, glaring at her. "How am I supposed to relax?"
"It's not like you've never met them before," Darcy says, rolling her eyes. "You're at my house all the time; my parents love you."
"Yeah, that was before I turned their daughter gay."
Darcy laughs, throwing her head back. "You didn't 'turn me gay'," she says. "You just made me realize I'm bi."
"Yeah but-"
"Besides, do you really think my parents are going to care if we're dating or not? It's not like they're homophobic," Darcy interrupts, smirking.
"But they never like any of the guys you bring home, why would I be any different?" Lila protests.
"Because you've been my best friend since I was five," Darcy says. "And they love you like you're one of their own kids. And all the lads I've ever brought home have been annoying."
"Darcy-"
"Shut up," Darcy instructs, kissing her to make her stop talking. "It's gonna be fine, okay?"
Lila sighs, but she nods. "Okay. Fine."
"Great." Darcy smiles and pulls Lila by the hand into her house. Morgan looks up from where she's sitting in the living room, scrolling on her phone. She eyes Darcy and Lila's entwined hands as they toe off their shoes.
"Did you two finally fuck?" she asks bluntly, raising an eyebrow.
Darcy whips her head around to stare at her younger sister. "What the hell, Morgan?!"
Morgan raises her hands in surrender. "I'm just asking. Did you?"
"None of your business," Darcy grumbles, but she feels her cheeks start to heat up.
"Will you at least admit you're dating?"
"Is it that obvious?" Lila asks, groaning.
"My sister came home with a hickey on her neck yesterday, yes it's obvious," Morgan deadpans.
"There's no way you could have known Lila gave it to me," Darcy argues.
"Please," Morgan scoffs. "You stare at her the same way Papa stares at Dad. It's the signature Tomlinson family creepy love stare."
"What are we saying about creepy love stares?" Emerson asks, coming into the room from the kitchen. "'Cause Papa's outside with Dad right now, staring at him while he practices footie, so this is great timing."
"We aren't saying anything about creepy love stares, because I don't have one," Darcy declares.
"Sure you don't, Darce," Emerson says sarcastically, rolling her eyes. "And Papa doesn't either."
"Shut up, Emmie."
"Why are we talking about creepy love stares?" Emerson asks.
"Darcy and Lila fucked," Morgan tells her.
"What?!" Emerson exclaims, wide-eyed.
"Morgan!" Darcy glares while Lila buries her face in her hands.
"Is that why you had that hickey?" Emerson asks.
"How do you even know what a hickey is?" Darcy demands.
"I'm thirteen, I'm not oblivious."
"Whatever, I'm done with both of you," Darcy declares. "I'm going to talk to Dad and Papa. You said they were outside?"
