Birthday

Reo's pov:
Today it's Nagi's birthday so I decided to surprise him. I ignored him and didn't talk to him in any classes. Immediately after school ended, I left to get some flowers. I felt bad about avoiding Nagi but the surprise had to go well, and I knew that if I would have talked to him I would have accidentally ruined the surprise.

When I arrived at the flower shop, I decided asking for help instead of choosing myself.
"Excuse me, it's my friends birthday today and I don't know what type of flowers to get for them. Could you please help me choose?"
"Of course, I' help you! After all, your girlfriend must be really nice. I mean, she caught the eye of a Mikage." The lady winked at me.
I felt my face heat up. She totally misunderstood. Crap! How should I tell her that she's wrong?!
"Well, uhm, I don't have a girlfriend. I was actually looking for flowers for my boy best friend."
"Oh! I'm sorry I thought of something else, forgive me! Then, I'd reccomend roses."
I think roses are pretty romantic flowers but I guess that the flower shop owner knows better than me. I'll just get those.
I paid and then left, thanking the lady for her help.

Next, I had to go get a cake from the bakery. The original plan was to bake Nagi a cake but I figured that my cooking skills are terrible. Also, I think that store bought cake tastes better anyway. When I entered I was shocked by the amount of cakes that they were selling. There were tons of flavours there, Chocolate, caramel, heck they even had bubblegum flavour.
In the end, I chose a white chocolate cake with strawberry filling. I really hope that I made the right choice. Now, it was time to surprise Nagi.

Nagi's pov:
Today's my birthday. What a pain!
I rolled over on my bed. I stared at the ceiling. I felt tears start trickling down my cheeks.
Why the heck am I crying. It's just a stupid day. So what if nobody remembered it? I don't care about others.

But then why do I care so much about the fact that Reo forgot?
I started sobbing again. I thought someone actually cared for once about me. I'm an idiot.
I heard the doorbell ring and got up slowly. I wiped my tears a little bit before opening the door.
I was surprised to see Reo there with a cake and flowers. For me?
"Surprise! Happy birthday Nagi!" He cheered.
I burst into tears.
"Thank you!" I said relieved.
His eyes widened and he left down (on a table) the cake and flowers and pulled me into a hug.
"Are you okay did something happen?"
"I'm fine, thanks." I sobbed
"No you're not. Did you think I was going to forget your birthday?"
I nodded.
"Oh, Nagi, how could I ever forget? It's my favorite day of the year. I love you, Nagi!"
My eyes widened. He loved me. He actually cared.
"I love you too, Reo!" I said as I then pressed my lips onto his.
"Reo, you were the gift that I wanted."
"I'm all yours." Reo said as he hugged me tighter and kissed back.

I'm so sick right now it's not even funny how bad I feel. But hey, at least Reo and Nagi are happy!😊😊
