Lockdown

Nagi's pov:
Life was such a hassle. Just as we thought that the pandemic was over, there it was again. A major lockdown was announced. And to make things even worse, me and Reo were stuck at my house. Alone. I felt really bad for him because I didn't have a cool house nor amazing conditions. Even so, I was relieved to know that I was not going to be alone.
"Who knew that a lockdown would be announced while we were hanging out?" Reo stated surprisingly.
"Yeah." I sighed.
"Well, at least we are together. Apparently this'll last one week. Let's make the most of it!" He cheered.
I nodded and smiled.

The first night together was somewhat weird. I only had one bed and we had to share it. Even though we often had sleepovers, they were all at my friends house where he had two beds in the same room.
I didn't want to make Reo uncomfortable so we just slept back to back. It was cold and I felt the need of some warmth but I decided not to complain and I just fell asleep quickly.

I'm the morning we chatted for a while before I made breakfast for the two of us. It wasn't anything special, just cereal and milk. Even so, Reo kept on complimenting my cooking.
The day went on pretty fast: we played video games for the most of it.
And so, once again it was nighttime. We laid down and I wanted to quickly drift to sleep like last night but it was really cold. I began shaking and tears formed in my eyes because of the low temperature. Reo suddenly turned around and began talking.
"Nagi are you okay?"
"Y-yeah, why wouldn't I?" I struggled to say.
"You seem like you are cold. Could I help you somehow?"
"No, it's fine."
Reo sighed and suddenly wrapped his arms around me. I was surprised but for the first time I felt butterflies in my stomach. I blushed and enjoyed his warmth.
"Thank you!" I muttered before falling asleep with a smile on my face.

As the days went on we kept on getting closer and closer. I know that we were already best friends but I really mean it when I say that we got even closer. It was comforting doing everything together and somehow I felt safer like that.
Every night we cuddled in each other's arms and every morning we would chat happily. I was confused as to what I was feeling. It was strange. Like my heart was pounding out of my chest every time Reo spoke to me.

It was finally the last day of lockdown and me and Reo were having a late night conversation.
"This lockdown was different, it's almost like I didn't want it to end." He said
"Yeah, it was really fun spending it with you."
"You know, maybe we could move in together. I mean if you wouldn't mind me settling in with you."
I smiled as his unexpected request.
"Yes! That would be great!"
Reo brought me into a hug and I started talking.
"You know, during this lockdown I realized how much I love you. I mean romantically. My heart skips a beat every time you hold me close or talk to me sweetly. Since we're going to be living together I figured I'd tell you." As I finished talking my face was bright red from embarrassment,
"I love you too! This week has been one of the best in my life and it was amazing spending this much time together."
"Yeah." I agreed before looking deeply into Reo's eyes.
I slowly closed in the gap between us and we shared a quick and gentle kiss.

This lockdown wasn't so bad after all.
