I stood in front of Alec letting my mind process the fact that he was taken sink in.

The things I was going to do to this boy.

How was I going to tell Kristen? I couldn't stand seeing her sad face, but I also couldn't keep it from her. If she knew I knew and didn't tell her. That would hurt her a lot more.

She was my best friend, I had to find a way.

"Cassie? Did you hear me?" Alec asked as my mind wondered off.

Yeah, I heard you. I heard you loud and clear.

"If you like Kristen...then why not break up with this mystery girlfriend of yours?" I asked the question that had been bothering me.

He bit his lip as if debating whether or not to answer my question. I was actually quite afraid of his answer.

I was afraid of the truth, everyone is at some point in their life. That's why some people build emotional walls and let absolutely no one in, cuz they're afraid. They're someone will come along, break the walls and then just leave. Afraid the damage someone could cause.

But...while protecting themselves, they also hurt themselves. They miss all the great opportunities, or all the great chances of letting someone good into their life.

That's why most people go by the saying, life's all about taking risks. I completely agree, but even though life has it's risks, it's chances, and it's different choices. Life also has it's rules, everything has it's rules.

As bad as it might sound, it keeps some people from doing stupid things. But some people do them anyway.

"She's a very powerful women Cassie," he said sighing.

Powerful? That's what was keeping him from breaking up with this woman?

What the hell happened to love overpowers all?

Or what about loving like you're gonna die the next day?

I really wish their was no such thing as reality, because that's what keeps people from doing some things.

In reality, there's people with power. Some choose to use it in a good way, and other choose not to. Most people are afraid of those who choose to use their power in a bad way. The people I admire, are those who choose to look away from the tittles people hold. Those are the people that make a difference, because the truth is...there really is no such as fate.

I don't believe in fate.

Fate is basically telling you to just stand back and let universe solve all your problems.

Fate...it's unreal, because no matter how long you wait. Nothing will happen unless you choose for something to happen.

That's also why I don't have expectations, because expectations, no matter how low they're set. They're always just set. Nothing really happens like you expect it.

That's the joy in life...surprise, adventure, and love.

"What does that mean?" I asked still not getting the point.

"It means, she's got a lot of money," he paused and sighed again," Her family, they've got a lot of money."

"Power?" I asked.

He nodded at me. That was it, I couldn't take it anymore.

Why was this boy acting like such a coward. Right that moment I lunged at him.

*Kristen*

I watched as Alec and Cassie talked. To be truthful the only person I was watching was Alec, he looked guilty and sad.
