He tied the rope into a noose.

He never meant for it to get this bad.

Could he have stopped it?

If he had payed more attention to Mari?

If he had left Sunny in his house?

If he had kept a better watch over Basil?

If he had talked to Hero?

If he had not allowed Aubrey to do drugs instead of indulging in her latest unhealthy habit?

There must have been something he could've done. But he did nothing. Or at least, all of his efforts fell short. Everything was gone. Everyone he had ever loved was dead.

He could have continued.

Kel was special like that, always persistent.

A symbol of hope.

He was supposed to live, at the very least.

He could get help, and probably, definitely, get better. They all could've done that.

But no one did that.

So Kel was alone, and certainly not going to do that.

Continuing?

That was hard.

All Kel wanted to do was be happy, and he couldn't, he had lost everything, everyone, it was all gone.

His hands didn't fumble, he wasn't anxious, or shaky. He was silent, accepting this was his only solution.

He went to the secret hang out spot. He put it around a branch, a tall one, a strong one.

And he hung himself.
